9473677 No.9473677 [Reply] [Original]

I have a question regarding chainlink's volume.
Why the volume decreased from about 10 million to only 2 million in less than a week?
If the boys were turned off then why? Any other explanation?
As always please ignore tripfags and don't let them derail the thread.

>caring about volume in crypto

90% of the whole crypto volume are bots doing the same trades back and foward

>> No.9473779

>>9473708
I'll keep holding but it's interesting.
What would be the reason of the 80% volume drop on less than a week?
I know bots probably are the reason, but why turn them off?

>> No.9473844

>>9473677
it's a simple but relevant observation.

shows how much of a fledgling market this still is. like has been said, bots would be the likely explanation.

hard to say why they stopped. could be as simple as market makers taking a break.

>> No.9473879

>>9473844
Ok, let's abide by Occam's Razor and assume that market makers took a break. But I don't think everything is that simple, there could be an ulterior reason.

Its because they are slowly running out of LINK to trade

>> No.9474096

>>9473900
You think it's holders that don't want to sell their stack?
That would make sense but it would drop the volume over the course of a long time, not only a week.

clearly the answer is some kind of sophisticated whale game in order to accumulate more of this God token that is destined for $1000 EoY minimum.

>> No.9474163

>>9474096
Not quite. Link was a good coin for bots to trade back and forth but as time goes on more and more real buyers are just hodling and not letting it go. More profitable to have them farming others at the moment.

>> No.9474180

>>9474163
So what I'm trying to say is that bots aren't having their parameters met for sell volume, so the owners see this and will switch it to others for the moment. Been happening with link and about a dozen other coins for a while now.

I truly believe that decentralized oracles are the missing link for mainstream adoption for smart contracts. If you don't have trustlees integration end-to-end there's no reason to use smart contracts.
I'm trying to accumulate as much as I can because I believe in the project and in smart contracts in general.
The reason why I believe in the project is because it open a whole lot of general use cases instead of tokens that have a single use case (decentralized supply chain, decentralized internet browsing, etc.), chainlink can generalize all of those uses and more by the use of API's which are the backbone of the internet.

Only 20k link wallets fren.
Considering only 10% or so are true believers and have iron hands, there are only 2k people that will reap the dividends of patience.
Not even hard to believe 2k iron hand holders all can become millionaires because it's not easy to hold when there's that much fud and most people don't have the patience and guts to do it.

>> No.9475524

>>9475358
I have only seen a few legit fud posts which depend on crypto falling as a whole instead of just chainlink.
I think people are just fudding to get cheaper prices.
I'm gonna make some calculations to show you that fud in biz really affects the price.
The market cap of Link is:
350 million link x 0.5 dollars = $175 million
Real money invested in crypto is inflated by around a factor of 30x.
Top 500 holders (true believers) own 90% of all supply which means there are only around 100 million link tokens.
The rest of the 19,500 wallets hold in average 111.11 dollars in link.
If you fud link on biz, which is where the majority of holders of link are, chances are that some people are gonna sell and given that most tokens are already out of circulation you'll be able to suppress the price if only a bit.
