Decentralization is also necessary for trustless smart contracts and eliminating the need for 3rd parties.

Block.one or "EOS" can't reverse transactions. There has to be a 2/3 + 1 Block Producer consensus. So basically 15 of the 21 BP's have to agree to roll back or fork the chain. If the Parity bug or any ETH hack happened on EOS, then the BP's could have voted to freeze the chain and roll back to before the bug/hack.
