Ethereum is literally controlled by 2 pools at the moment. Seriously though, EOS and ethereum aren't really comparable further than both are blockchains. EOS/ETH/Bitcoin-maximalists are cancer. Do some research.

Certain projects will be suitable on ethereum, other on EOS. I happen to be a fan Vitalik, though I think EOS is really hot right now.
