Might be a false alarm as it's too early to be certain but if this is the flip aiming for massive hype on the 32mb upgrade on the 15th, STRAP THE FUCK IN.

And the benchmark is if an extra day is added every day to the difficulty adjustment target, it will never be reached.
Four days in pretty much four hours is more than that.

4 days over normal what? What has never been that high? Price manipulation attempting to supress what?
Could you please explain in a little more detail?

Over normal difficulty adjustment period.
The current period estimate at 18 days 4 hours after difficulty adjustment. Price in BTC crashed hard very recently (maybe in response?) but there is also dumping in BCH, potentially to stop this from triggering. It appears to be triggering all the same anyway.

Thanks anon, will be interesting to watch.
Question now is whether I should Tether my alts or just leave it. I can't imagine what kind of effect would the flippening have on prices of the rest of the projects.

I have no idea on the knock on effects on small caps. I imagine Ethereum would actually do well though as those who are frightened off by the entire thing look elsewhere for more stable ground, it's what normies would consider the next safest bet in the space I think.

imo something like this wouldn't be over in one sweeping motion. You can imagine that in the event of a massive loss in hashing power people would be desperate to dump their coins, thus the transaction fees would probably rise to the point where it's worthwhile for miners to mine for the transaction fees. Still very bad but I don't see the network grinding to a sudden complete halt.

BTC fees are denominated in cratering btc, BCH block reward is denominated in mooning bch. And that's completely ignoring block maturity wait for mining rewards and the basic mathematical fact that for fees to even compensate for the present btc block reward they would need to 60x.
No, if this happens it will happen fast and permanently. The only possible response core will have is an emergency hard fork to a different pow. Otherwise chain death.

Just look at the price, BTC lose 3%, everything else is down 10%.
