Redditors are the biggest pieces of shit on the internet. They’re manchildren perpetually stuck in that angsty rebellious 15 year old’s mindset yet the self awareness never comes and they always think they’re the smartest guy in the room.

I’d love to beat the guy that posted this senseless.

Wtf are you on, i wish I had crayons on me so I could draw something to help you understand the concept.

Most coins you're investing in right now have a plan... They're finalizing their back end, and looking for partnerships. Show me any coin right now that has actual contracted/sponsored professional commercial use that is sitting at $0.02. it doesn't exist, because if a coin had all the things I mentioned or even partial, their price would be going up.

You have to go back. Do I really need to explain it to you? Every time you buy an alt (with a few exceptions for ETH and fiat pairings) you are selling Bitcoin. Not to mention the fact that because the unit value of so many of these coins is fractional it makes no sense to track them in terms of cents because that's too big of a unit for crypto.

Youre view is simply a BTC-centric view, focusing on BTC as a "standard", when really, despite being the grandaddy of crypto, there's no economical reason to default to BTC besides using it as a trading pair and a means to move funds between exchanges.

Your ultimate goal is to pick the coin that has the greatest increase in value compared to what you are giving up, and plan to convert back into (fiat).

I'll try to make a simple explanation because I went from laughing at your post to feeling sad for you.

Imagine crayons are the new hot shit and EVERYONE wants a crayon, and crayons are securing partnerships worth billions.

If there are only 10 crayons on earth, and the universal mesure of value is a red rock, and there are a lot more red rocks on earth than crayons, each crayon is going to be worth a lot of red rocks (and each red rock is going to be worth a fraction of a crayon).

Now if there are billions of crayons, each crayon is going to be worth a fraction of a red rock, and each red rock is going to be worth a lot of crayons.

Now simply replace the crayons with any cryptocurrency, and the red rocks with USD.

AAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

so
to be fair,
it seems that not too many people get this one, either
both bitcoin AND bitcoin cash are essentially unstoppable because of their proof-of-work algorithm
for as long as technology gets better—and the invention of bitcoin is a GREAT reason for technology to get better, faster than it normally would—the difficulty adjusts, and pays a lesser amount of bitcoin
this amount is worth the same as a greater amount was in the past, because the most efficient available resources that money is expended on to acquire it cost roughly the same today as they did a few years ago, and because of how the difficulty adjusts, it will ALWAYS be this way
as long as all the miners don't sell at a loss—and they wouldn't be miners for long if they did—mining bitcoin will always be profitable
because of bitcoin's open nature that encourages competitive mining from anyone who can fund the creation of a new mining chip or buy preexisting ones from a supplier, there will never stop being a race for the best technology
importantly, the block reward is halved every four years or so, which means that upon halving, the miners make half as much bitcoin for the same amount of work—meaning that, if they have a brain, they'll sell their bitcoin for at least twice as much as the bare minimum was before halving

tl;dr: bitcoin, no matter how slow or how old the network gets, no matter how much fud you read, is nearly completely and totally unstoppable
even if nobody on earth ever used it for satoshi's original purpose, if mining efforts grew, it would only be worth more
only if all computers on earth were destroyed would bitcoin be worth nothing
it's like an investment in the continued development of the earth's computing power
(for all intents and purposes, though, BCH is the real bitcoin, and it is similarly unstoppable)
