and I fucking hate it.

1. Has a fucking smell to it that I'm fairly sure is toxic (VOCs) and its been almost a full week. It already attached to my blanket. Never remember any previous bed having a scent. Damn acent smells just like the store even though thoses bed were likely there for months, should've paid attention to my suspicions of that store scent.

2. When laying on it I can feel movement, can't tell if it's my pulse or what.

3. Decided to buy a frame where I don't need a box spring. Bed literally sits on top and a jab at the mattress with the knee pushes it, fucking regret it.

4. Last bed took a large chunk of space (queen) but it was actually a useful sitting area. Useful for video gaming and watching tv. This one is too far from the tv since it's not as wide (twin) and leaves a lot of empty space in my room.

5. It literally has s o y in it for something, maybe the foam.

Mattress after taxes alone cost approx. $425. Add an extra $10 for driving to pick it up and bringing it back. Total about $435.

Returning it costs $79.99. LMAO That's almost 20% of the entire cost.

To exchange it for another would be $60 for them to pick it up rather than me taking it to them plus more money if there is a price difference for the new mattress.

This is the last time I puchase a slatted bed frame, bed smaller than full, and what seems to be a shit tier brand (Sleepy's). Could've literally paid about $70 more for a mattress set elsewhere WITH box spring and it seemed better quality.

Biz anon's how do I recuperate on my sleeping investment?

Sorry to hear it fren. I got a new mattress last month. I had to let it air out, ran my air purifier and fan, did this a couple days in a row to get most of the smell gone. I can still smell it sometimes but I think its fading.

In the US, the gov mandates companys spray all mattresses and stuff in material so the mattress wont catch on fire because people get high and passout on their beds and whatever they were smoking falls and burns their house down.

I used to have a cheap mattress but got like a $150 mattress topper that made it much more bearable. I have a nice mattress now but might get topper for it just because they really add in more comfy.

How long did you let it air out? Was it done in your room, garage, outside, elsewhere?

I let it go maybe 3 full days at least on the bed frame without a sheet, blankets, or pillows.

that fucking sucks dude. It's shitty when an expensive purchase turns out to suck, and its extra shitty when it's your bed.

My advice; take the financial hit and trade/replace/upgrade your bed until you love it. You gotta get sleep mang, it heals and repairs you every day. A shitty mattress will make you hate your life. Good luck fren

i slept on the floor graduated to a board, elevated, then to 0.5 inch closed cell foam, you can have it cut to size at a foam and upholstery shop.

currently I'm on a wood frame and natural wool mattress. it has zero loft.

never sleep on the floor. the reason is that there are many harmful particles close to the surface and you just end up breathing them all night

also because it's protip, a unless you are very active and fit sleeping on hard surfaces isn't going to be comfortable. once you have enough muscle it cushions but also provides some sort of feed back for your skeletal system and actually makes you tougher.

also the flame retardant particles are toxic but you have to watch or for them primarily in older foam that is disintegrating, the kind that if you slap it a cloud of particles comes out. that's the polyester monomers, the PBDEs were locked inside

breathe enough of it and you will get cancer and shit. the only thing to do if you have these products is carefully double bag in plastic and throw away and then think about what kind of society mandated this poison

In my bedroom. I did sleep on it each night, but for the first 3 days or so I would remove my bedding in the morning and then let it air out. I would have opened my windows too but I have a pollen allergy so I could only use fans / airpurifier. Mine is one of those tempurpedic offbrand ones so it actually came to my house all rolled up and vacuum sealed. I researched the smell and people say it can leave in a week to a couple months but seems because of the gov regulated chemicals they have to spray on it or put in it so it wont catch on fire.

If you have like a plug in fan you could just aim it at the mattress and leave it running during the day. I dont remember any mattress ever having a smell before like during childhood and this is the first one I ever bought.

Eat the loss, buy a mattress from Goodwill. They have brand new ones for some reason, twins are like $100.

>> No.9219742

>>9219300
Damn anon, I fucking wish you would of came to my shop. For that price I would of set you up with a decent queen foam/innerspring hybrid set.

My advice is, get a foam topper and a box spring. If you really don't like the Twin, find somewhere that buys the mattresses from the factories on clearance, and get a queen size again.

For any anon considering a bed, don't pay more than 1k for a bed any size, ever. You're probably being ripped off or being sold on some bs feature.

you dummy the only thing beds are for is sex
After the sun goes down and you've been tucked in, the adults push the bed aside and set up their tents so they can sleep on the firm flat floor with no bugs.
Just put a thick enough blanket over the tent floor and you'll sleep so easily.

Same deal here never remember any other mattress smelling when I was a kid or even family members beds.

This is also the first bed I bought, all the others were with my parents. Should've bought the Simmons Beautyrest at JCPenney for an extra $70 and purchased a non slatted bed frame that holds the bed in it rather than having the bed sit on it.

Have a good night.

What how could you get that size for that cheap!? For $599.99 (USD) I could've gotten a Simmons Beautyrest with box spring (no frame, pre taxes, pre shipping fees). Would you say thats a good deal?

Anon, perhaps you should have spent more than $400 on a mattress.

>> No.9220382

That would be a queen size.

The twin would've been $449 albeit twin feels too short.

Didn't buy this matress at JCPenney, got it elsewhere.

>>9219520

Even if I exchange it I'm suspicious of the quality they sell even if 1 is a well known brand. Might be worth losing $79.99 and just going elsewhere. Will tough it out for now. May return the frame though maybe that would get rid of that moving feeling.

My heavily pregnant gf and i slept on the floor on a 20mm foam matreess. Its uncomfortable for about a week and after that you will never go back to a bullshit inner sprung mattress. Ended up buying a 100mm wool and latex center futon at a tiny amount of the price of a "normal" mattress and added slats to make my bed frame solid. Humans were designed to sleep on hard surfaces. Buy a glorious nihonese-made futon. 100% pure cotton if you get a good one. You get used to the reduced padding quite quickly and rolls up for storage
Can also wash it and take it outside to sun, unlike mattresses which just accumulate fungal spores and filth for decades
