Popular brokers for stock trading:
Robinhood

http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

if you expect vix to go up (or stay high), buy stocks low and sell sell stocks high. that is, act as a market marker. high volatility means this will be a profitable strategy.
if you expect vix to go down (or stay low), do some momentum investing. sell things that are going down and buy things that are going up. if volatility is low, momentum will drive prices and this will be profitable.

holding *derivatives* longterm over UVXY is as "safe" as trading vol gets, i can assure you. check the really long term contracts m8. they adjust for reverse splits. so this continual march downward WILL affect the stock, but will not affect the derivatives that have the reverse split already factored in.

do you understand how volatility works? the VIX spikes. it doesnt go up and then consolidate at 50. it spikes there, and then immediately plummets. this is the entire reason i trade UVXY contracts. its swings are wild. all you have to do is have a defined exit point where you think vol will spike to, set your limit, and then forget about it (atleast thats how i do it, i cant be arsed to watch the fuckin VIX all day, it drives me nuts).

i would be inclined to agree with you but seriously, pick up one of those weird pawn shop guitars. not all of them are created equal, you gotta rifle through a lot of them. but youll find one at one point and youll plug it in and go "FUCK who turned up the amp?" and it will be screeching and screaming like its got metal distortion on it. you put that in good wood, have nice tone and volume pots, and use your volume and tone knob to control the craziest fuzz/distortion you could possibly ever have. you roll the volume back, crystal clear leads with super sensitive dynamics.

i dont even know why, because they are seriously made out of fridge magnet material sometimes, but they are completely unparalleled imo in terms of sound.

My score card got fucked today.

UVXY went down which fucked me
SPY went up which fucked me
USO went down which fucked me
GLD went down which was ok
LQD went down which was ok
TLT went down which was ok

So I got half the picks right, but I'm going to need to see some pic related tomorrow or I'm going to get fucked.

I had two accounts linked RH accidentally withdrew from the wrong and got charged a shitton
just sent a message to capital one and they refunded me. I even threatened to close my account since I didn't even use it.

How much does /smg/ spend/make on options? I put 90% of my portfolio in blue chips, and with the remaining 10% I'm trying to make 20 - 30% gains per contract (so far not going so well). Pussied out on some calls today before the rally so I'm kicking myself in the ass for that.

I know GILD is the dog of Wall Street and I shouldn't have any hope that it would have popped on today's ER
I thought about selling a covered call on this shit and use the premium buying a put
I would have capped my gain but protected in case of a Bog intervention

But in the end I did nothing and get justed. Even if I sell calls in the coming days, the premium will be less.
