How much money would I need to startup my own cell phone repair job? $1000? $2000? Not sure if I'll make it my main job, just want some income while I'm in school. I don't have much competition in my area.

Also where can I buy parts in bulk besides ebay?

that's exactly it dude. you buy shit screens, replace them, then when your customers break those ones again they think it's their own fault and come back to you again. rinse, repeat, profit.

I didn't think about it that way.

How much do you think I would need to invest for startup?

You just need the screw drivers and YouTube

Just ask the client what phone they have and order it, find a client willing to wait 1 week to get their phone back.

The i6s just came out so the 6 screens will be dropping soon.

Instead, I'd advise you to do what everyone else is doing now since the market you're going into is flooded.

>Find cheap phone online
>"Back is cracked, 70% off"
>Fix back for $5
>Sell for $150

Just know that you'll be returning a lot of them since scammers really think they can get away selling stolen/unpaid/lost-found phones through the web.

>We buy tons of phones online
>Please make sure your phone isn't stolen as you will not receive your funds
Seller ships
>Phone shows it was lost/stolen
>"You're lying...release my funds now nigga"

Had to return 4 last week, almost 1k is being held while they're being returned to the scammers. Almost want to return some old boxers instead.

Not a site, it's an app. Don't think I can say it here since it would be considered advertising or whatever.

App has been out for a year, it's still in beta mode so you're not charged anything for selling. Only problem is it's much..much easier for a seller to get scammed.

It's full of College kids/people that don't really know the price of things. Great place to snag an unlocked 64GB iPhone 6+ for $350

This. The only difference is the little stamp that doesn't mean shit. OP I did this for a bit you shouldn't need more than 1000 to get started just be sure you know what you're doing and know what you're buying. EBay is your best bet if you're just starting off btw once you plan on ordering in quantities >30 you can look for other sources

lol, matches my name.

Anyways on a side note.

The landlord's wife had her phone stolen today.

7AM
>Hey, are you up?
I am now, what's up
>Have you seen my phone around?
Haven't
>Okay thanks, sorry for waking you up

Been here for over a month, a couple just moved in two weeks ago (blk/wht)
Landlord knows I deal with phones everyday, but I make everything transparent with him, even when pic related happened three days ago.

Left it outside so they would see it and know I was returning a stolen phone because I don't deal with stolen goods. We had a laugh and he even has his own eBay acc now.

Long story short, 10min ago she was just threatening to call the police because the new guys were the one who stole her phone. They said they didn't mean to and it was a mistake, but the sim card is missing + the case is broken.

HOLY SHIT she just knocked on my door telling me everything ( I already know). They're throwing their shit out tomorrow if they don't take it, LOL.

I do know a person that runs a pawn shop, maybe he gets these broken iphones once a while.
I don't know if he accepts them or what.
Guess I will have a chat with him, but he probably takes them for himself and flips them since after all its a business..

the market here for this shit isn't great.

Someone has, I've seen some listings up on eBay costing upwards to $200 just to have the iCloud repaired.

IMO I think it has to do with the mobo and resetting something, just like you do with a computer and small battery that keeps the clock from staying correct.

Just the other day I heard about how companies were cracking down on employees selling unlock codes

yea, cause eBay nowadays is full of bots that are programmed to grab new listings that don't say "Bad IMEI/ESN" etc...

Or eBay themselves have someone that buys the item before it's even posted to the public...

Sellers tend to scam less on eBay because they know eBay will most likely let the buyer keep the item, so they go to Craigslist or apps like this where these idiots don't see that someone selling 4 iPhones at once on a new account isn't fishy at all...

you guys are fucking retarded please dont get into the business.
icloud isnt unlockable. and it isnt stored on your phone at all. the Locked icloud device contacts apples servers and apple reports back to the device sending info to request login details for an icloud account associated with that unique imei/serial. you can wipe it a million times and it wont matter since the information is stored on apples SERVERS.

is there people that can by pass this? sure statistically. but it will never be made public, apple will patch the fuck out of the exploit as soon as it hits the net. good luck

No one is saying it can be removed completely, but everything can be masked over.

Apple checks the devices UDID, something anyone with a Jailbreak can change, as I used to change mine a lot back when I played Graal Online.

They're patching things up having the servers check the IMEI/ESN as well since most people have yet to find out how to mask that since you would have problems with your carrier as well.

I've dealt with iPhones that the sellers said "Don't reset" because they know it will be locked again.

i have hear of UDID method but never figured out how it worked. since jailbreaking is neccassry im assuming it has to be a certain iOS for it to work. great method.

IMEI/ESN can be rewrtitten with android but i have not seen any methods to change it within iOS. sad they are checking these now
