Can we get a discussion going as to why you have not picked up a hardware wallet?
Do you think that they are just a USB flash drive? When this crypto thing started ppl used to say 'be your own bank' not leave it on a server and hope the admins & family don't get kidnapped. Robberies of exchanges are already a thing.
At this point if you don't have one you do not care about financial security or future. I prefer my Trezor to the ledger, trezor has a password + is open source. Have both.

Why don't you have one yet?

too dead inside to care. if I lose everything on binance then so be it

Sry to hear that dude, i look forward to the suicide live steams in the future, give me a shout out before you follow though

What if you lose the trezor?

How is this usb stick better than cold wallet with seed words hidden somewhere

>> No.9117907

>>9117855
Bc even if you have a computer with malware ect the private key stays on the hardware wallet. the only other way to make sure that you don't get your private key stolen is to boot into a live linux or similar. the seed words are just to recover the wallet (private key).

Binance is such a huge buisiness that it wouldnt be in their interest to exit scam. Its in their intrest to protect their users with all they have and keep trust.

The way I see it, binance is more secure then hardware wallet.

I do find it really odd though that I have tiny amounts of coins that i can't do fuck all with, all those pennies from every customer must add up.....
sry delusional newfags funds are not safe as you have no way to verify the funds are safe, apart form taking a chinks word

what if
hear me out now
radical idea
what if you didn't do stupid shit on your computer in the first place and so didn't get malware?

>inb4 "muh anomalous hack the planet"
been on the internet for longer than your 20 years old ass has been alive, zero hacks
ALL hacking can be avoided with simple steps:
1) no social media, no attention whoring of any kind
2) no password reuse
3) no shady websites, no shady downloads
4) no physical access between your computer and other people, usb sticks from public computers, public networks

every so-called "security measure" exists only to protect 99% of the population from their catastrophically poor judgement and their inability to keep their dick in their pants
don't be retarded and nothing bad ever happens

did you boot up into a live version of linux? your computer is potentially compromised. why worry when you can secure it?

>> No.9118374

you could, but why worry for the small cost of the hardware wallet....

I have my keys in an encrypted folder on an encrypted machine. This is just as good as ledger nano.

Hardware wallets are a fucking meme for 99% of the population. Even if you're a really paranoid type and worried about malware, you'd be better off using an old, secure airgapped laptop that you back up frequently.

Much easier to misplace and lose your keys by using a hardware wallet.

You should always have a backup solution, an hardware wallet can save your ass the say you do something stupid.

Binance won’t exit scam, but they will always be vulnerable to hackers. OP is right which is why my hardware wallet is coming in today.

I was a victim in the March hack attack, and I genuinely believe binance got compromised. There are too many accounts of people never installing any APIs or bots, 2fa, using extra security every time they login (read that a guy on plebbit who seemed very technical in internet security that still got hacked despite not using any APIs or being phished), that still got hacked.

It’s not worth it, just get a hardware wallet.

got a ledger late last year after a close call with a piece of shit windows laptop. comfy af ever since.

90% of people would be better off keeping funds on a reliable exchange though. people are just too fucking lazy to secure their shit.
