Pls explain to a poorfag what tether is. What I've gathered is, tether is a way to convert your crypto in to a virtual USD, so when large dips hit the market, you can essentially "cash out" without actually cashing out, and just as easily re-enter the market when you feel like, is that right?

Is there anything else too it? Cuz I'm about to tether the fuck up if that's it.

Yep, that's it. Tether doesn't hold any actual US dollar value, no one knows if each Tether is actually backed by a dollar or not. So odds are, if the cryptomarket does indeed fuck itself sideways in truly huge proportions, even if you tethered, you might have nothing because no one will exchange your Tether for dollars.

It works like you said it does on a basic level. Just be aware that it doesn't actually mean your money is 100% safe. The only safe money is the one in your pocket and not on some virtual address.
