What's your incentive in poopooing on AMB? Are you fudding to buy more AMB? You're not even fudding right like you're not providing any points or anything.

I'm just looking for a discussion. I don't get how blockchain is supposed to improve supply chain. Having sensors to track products at each shipment point is a good idea. I don't get what blockchain does for this, if you want redundancy use a mirrored distributed sql database. Like what does a blockchain provide? What are the tokens for? As for I can tell "blockchain" is just a way to raise a lot of venture capital really fast.

I am scared to death that one day management is going to tell us to do "blockchain" and we're going to have to argue that "blockchain" doesn't fit this usecase. And they'll say no do it anyways and we're stuck maintaining this piece of shit system. Google Apple Amazon Netflix and Facebook are not doing anything with blockchain because it has a fucking niche application.

A sql database holds the sensor data. The user could scan a QR code to look it up via a mobile app or web app. Let me put it this way, facebook doesn't run a blockchain but you can access data from it's database through the fb mobile app or website.

You don't need a blockchain to be able to access the sensor data as a user.

>Their end game solution is when you have QR code on every product, so you can independently check it from your phone in order to assure it's legit and wasn't mixed with sewer waters somewhere in the middle of the transportation, or that your shrimps from Norway are really from Norway and had proper transportation conditions, and not replaced by 99,99% cheaper shitty shrimps from basement of some /biz/bro

This is a good thing. But you do not need blockchain for this. Blockchain is unnecessary.

If AMB is a supplier of data they are legally held accountable to provide good access data. Data vendors like Moodys Bloomberg must provide good data or they will get sued. There is no incentive for a supply chain data vendor to alter the data, the risk is too high. It's like an accounting firm willingly lying in an audit, you will destroy your own company.

The easiest way to hack a sql database is to do sql injections. You prevent that with sanitizing inputs. If you have defensive coding, then yes it's very hard to hack a sql database.

Not to soundlike a shill, but sql is a mature technology used for decades. It's not easy to hack. Probably easier to get an employee to click on a phishing e-mail and then try to find someone with admin creds then to directly hack the database.

Creative accounting and corruption are not new inventions to be honest.
I admit your point, it is possible to make things transparent and keep high quality without using blockchain, but still, this is a good use case of this technology.

I don't know much about your background to find proper arguments, but you could just watch their last keynote on youtube channel you will find answers. Personally, as EU citizen I've encountered many fraud shit in regards to suppliers and food market in general, it's very shady unless you're working with AAA+ companies. But even if you do, it's still not as good as it could be.

It's just much easier when you have independent running chain which records everything and you can watch whole timeline from A to Z being sure for 100% none of this info was edited. As far as I understood they are mostly betting on Euro market, and here we have 28 countries with different tastes in each of them, which means it's impossible for 2-3 corporations to satisfy everyone like it's possible in US, and because of this market specific you have to deal with hundreds-thousands of small companies which compete with each other, including shady practices (in accounting area as well), and here you go. In infrastructure terms blockchain actually solves much more and is more simple than regular databases

btw I don't own SQLcoin or anything. It doesn't exist.

I'm going to do something productive soon I guess because there is not as much discussion as I would like.

Ambrosus has a big uphill battle to convince any company to adopt their platform. I really don't see any reason for them to not just drop the blockchain part and just focus on storing sensor data in regular databases. But then again companies like to own their own data. I don't get the business model, I don't get the problem that blockchain is solving. There are good projects out there like gene editting, life extension, AI, automation but people are throwing their money at "blockchain". Wish I could facepalm my hand through my skull.

A write only database shouldn't have edits. If the compliance is set up right any edit into a write only database should have notes on why it was editted.

False data wouldn't be edited, it would be put into the database without anyone know it was bad data. This is what blockchain+crypto solves.

Bribing the sysadmin to insert false data at the exact point in time of a toxic product.

That's really so much work. Why not apply effort into just not having a shitty product in the first place. How do they know that the product is bad in advance and why are they trying to deliver it to market if they know it's bad. Are they evil or retarded?

Sensors failing is a seperate issue entirely. My argument is implementing blockchain does not provide enough benefit to cover the cost. The benefit of implementing a blockchain is not identifiable since you can get redundancy, immutability, viewability with current mature technologies.

Also what's your picture from and why do you keep posting it?

Okay, here's my best example of a use-case. You can tell me what you think doesn't work.

Food Distributor contracts Shipping Company to ship their food. This food needs to be constantly maintained at <10F to comply with regulations and eliminate risk of significant bacterial growth. Unfortunately, Shipping Company fucks up, and forgets to turn on the AC in their containers for a significant portion of the trip, the food becomes contaminated, but Shipping Company falsifies their log-books. The food goes to market, people get ill, and Food Distributor is now dealing with a recall.

Temperature sensors linked to a blockchain solve this problem. The food doesn't even make it to market. Food Distributor collects the contract penalty from Shipping Company immediately thanks to a smart-contract that monitors the temperature data.

>Food Distributor contracts Shipping Company to ship their food.

Most supermarkets own their own supply chain because they can't risk having a shipping company that has the ability lie about their own compliance. That would be brought up in the risk assessment.

Most companies vertically integrate shipment and own their own distribution networks. It's also cheaper this way usually because paying someone externally means they get to profit off your bottom line.

Right now companies are able to discover the source of a contamination through their own supply chains. I don't think blockchain adds anything really.

You have never heard of counterfeit products before?

>> No.9080547

>>9080463
Blockchain does not solve the issue of counterfeits. Good sensors solve the issue of counterfeits. Blockchain is just a slow database with a modified trust architecture.

We're going around in circles. I'm tired and need to sleep for tomorrow.

Anyways I'll leave off on this note, the devs fucking know that blockchain only has a very specific usecase. They were honest once.

The reason it's so DAMN FUNNY to see AMBlets dreaming is they actually think you can mass produce complicated and advanced sensors that can analyze composition of a material. Do you know how much you have to pay professionals who own proper instrumentation to do that? Those machines costs tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands.
