Watch thread? Watch thread.

Just got this watch, I'm a first year student.

Post yours (and name your profession)

>> No.907274

I have a cheapo casio for work/exercising and outdoors stuff, a five year old citizen ecodrive and a three year old bulova. about $420 worth between them, but they are pretty robust and look decent. I don't trash things like this, same with my winter coat--spent $250 on it five years ago.

>> No.907276

That one looks good but I'm afraid to ask how much lol

I have a regular ol gshock that ive had since high school but in the market for something a little nicer.

I can't stand jewelry or accessories of any kind on my body, won't even wear my wedding ring. I never forget it's there, just constantly bothers me.

Anyway, that's a nice watch. It's classy without being obnoxiously fancy.

Question: What's the proper ratio for face width to wrist width?

I ask because I have somewhat thin wrists. Plopping a huge watch on it makes it look really bad...similar to poorly fitting clothing. >>907324 for example...the watch is wider than this posters wrist and looks ridiculous to me. OP's looks too big to me as well, but not as bad. >>907317 looks like it would fit much better on either of the other referenced posters.

>> No.907343

>>907334
I also have pretty thin wrists as you can see on the picture. The watch is 42mm which is ideal for me. A lot of popular watches are 46mm which is just too big for my wrists.

Generally id say the dial of the watch has to be a little bit smaller than your wrist so it doesnt stick out. If your wrists are comparable to mine that means 38-42m dials are ideal.

My rolex is 36mm and looks a bit small but its very clean. Ive had people call it a woman's watch though.

They don't listen, though. A smart nigger will steal it off of your faggots asses and sell it to another tiny dicked faggot ass just like you.

This is why you're a joke and nobody takes guys that wear nice watches or have nice cars seriously. Don't forget to clean out your vaginas, you fucking girls. You're just as insecure as the girl who wears makeup and nice jewelry.

Actually my Breitling is a good conversation starter as most breitlings look a lot rougher and people usually don't know this particular one.

A lot of business people appreciate a nice watch and worst case scenario I can use it wherever I am in the world to buy me a ticket home.

Next up: A "48mm" saucer which is clearly too big for my wrist. It's actually a pocket watch (WWII pilot watch) that I had converted to wrist watch.

There's also a big difference between buying a respectable "clean" watch and getting yourself a tourbillon with 500000 flashy things on the dial screaming "look at me".

And no, people who like nice timepieces aren't always insecure people who need to make up for something else with it. I drive a very rational but recent car and wear suits from a local tailor that no one will recognise.

Pretty sure people think of the entire package as smart and discrete, not obnoxious and insecure.

It would simply help me see how much of an insecure twat they are.

People like Bill Gates, a multi-billionaire, don't buy dumb shit like nice watches(he in particular wears a $10 watch)because they actually did important shit with their life, actually have loads of money and aren't insecure fags.

People like John Mayer, the guitarist who is a known egomaniac that is extremely insecure and broke down several years ago, has a multi-million dollar watch collection even though his entire net worth is something like 30 million.
