Honestly I don't see any value in DAGs as the values in cryptocurrencies originate from three things.

1: the mining costs being a "minimum" on the price, this adds an absolute minimum value per coin
2: Smart contract functionality that could add value to the economy in a way not possible before smart contracts
3: Dapp functionality, targeting a niche market and offering a service/product using smart contracts

DAGs can't offer any of this and the only thing it can do is exchange information between 2 sources. I'm thinking really hard but I can't see this actually being used. I think DAG technology in general is a red herring. Kind of like betamax vs VHS. VHS=cryptocurrency Betamax=dag.

Even with the old dinosaur you are able to include a few bits of data, which can be a payment id or any given data you want to store on the blockchain. With nano you are just sending X nano from one square on the excel table to another. But it will moon again because "gotta go fast".
