They undercut local stores, then when those mom and pop shops go under, they jack up their prices.

Dollar general is fucking them up really well now

>> No.9029329

AMAZON is ass-fucking them as well. So funny to hear them bitching about losing market-share to Amazon when they raped all small business ruthlessly in the 90's. I know alot about Walmart as I worked for them for 3 years and I probably stole more than $50,000 of merch during my tenor there.

this. i have no sympathy for walmart as a corporation.

>> No.9029381

Walmart always shoots the hostages. They always try to put their suppliers out of business with generic store brands after pilfering trade secrets and doing a run around intellectual property laws via China. They always jack up their prices once they have a local monopoly. They always screw over their own workforce even to the detriment of the quality of the labor that they are paying for.

You only ever do business with Walmart if you are SURE that you can fuck them harder than they plan to fuck you.

My thoughts exactly. Stealing, however, makes you scum. You know that becomes a habit and warps your mind into becoming a stupid criminal right?

Why didn't Wally bought over eBay and Amazon while they were still in their infant stage?

I would work cashier. People i knew would bring higher priced items thru the line. I would cover the barcode on the item with a packet of kool aid and scan the item as kool aid. Boom. Stolen merchandise to sell back to walmart or anywhere.

Wow, I am surprised they didn't catch you considering the panopticon they constructed with hundreds of cameras. I know their financial models account for theft but I would think for big ticket items for TV's they would notice and start paying closer attention when inventory does not match the database.

I guess it would be a huge bitch to sit through hours of footage of checkout lines waiting for a TV to be bought and to validate every purchase was legitimate. This is probably the kind of scam that won't be possible in 10 years with better machine learning

No, there is competition just at a higher price.

There would have to be no other options for it to be a monopoly.

You could argue its dumping though I believe.

>> No.9031375

They won't admit but it's because it's where those awful poor people shop. There are few reasons you should hate Walmart for and not Amazon from a "societal problem" perspective, one just has more limited selection while the other knows and sells everything about you.

>> No.9032118

It was news a few years ago that they paid their workers so poorly that at least 50% of them had to collect food stamps.

It actually serves everyone but the mouth breathers shop there exclusively and shit up the place for the rest of us.

The only thing I buy at Walmart are my jeans. They supply a very quality blue jean. Food/hygiene products I can buy at winco. Similar clientele but much better staff and shopping experience.

>> No.9032406

I worked there for about 4 months back in 2009 unloading trucks in the back. The department manager was literally a drooling retard. Got paid $7 an hour minimum wage for backbreaking labor while a retarded woman yelled at me and told me to work faster. I can’t imagine actual slavery being any worse or any more demeaning. Finally decided to just stop showing up for work. Didn’t even tell them I was quitting. Thank god I went back to school and got a good career.

i don't hate walmart as much as I do all the people I see when I go there.

Last time I went, it was 9pm, and there was literally a police man standing at the exit like he worked there. And then when i get back to my car. There's a cart on by bumper..... fuck. fuck all of them.
