What did Sergey mean by this? Why is LINK hiring so many new people these past few weeks
Becuz it’s happening soon
What does a "Head of Operations" even do?
Because you need people with expertise and connections if you want to build up a business. Just for regulations and law topics alone you could hire ten people and it still wouldn't be enough if you will operate on a scale such as Link aims to do.
>>9019667Usually the business stuff that isn't salesKind of depends on the company desu
>>9019667What does it sound like? He's responsible for everything that smartcontract.com aims to "produce". That means we're pretty fucking close to seeing customers interact with smartcontract.com
>>9019667https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chief_operating_officer>Chief Operating Officer (COO), also called the Chief Operations Officer, is one of the highest-ranking executive positions in an organization, comprising part of the "C-Suite". The COO is responsible for the daily operation of the company,[1] and routinely reports to the highest-ranking executive, usually the chief executive officer (CEO).[2] The COO is usually the second in command at the firm, especially if the highest-ranking executive is the Chairman and CEO.

>>9019667Hard to describe unless you’ve worked in a team of people with various specialities. They make sure shit gets done and stays to the mark, all the non-definitive stuff is what they’re responsible for too. We had an unreal head of operations at Munich pre ious company who manages everyone SO well. We had psycho nurses, arrogant doctors, autistic lab staff, and he made everything run together so smoothly. I didn’t understand what a operations manager did until I saw him work. >>9020126Ops officers at tech companies usually don't need to be "people people". In most cases it's about keeping operational costs as low as possible while allowing the business to scale, and problem solving for operational hurdles which are keeping your business from growing. Some of the best ops managers in tech are total fucking autists when it comes to interpersonal relations, though I can understand why someone in hospital operations might need those skills since very few hospitals are focused on growth and more about the day to day running smoothly.

The reason the project isn't being hyped up is it would be totally contradictory to the true mission. Sergey envisions a world where people are held accountable for all their big promises and hype they speak about and don't keep. This way people who control a large amount of resources won't be able to exploit people's willingness to want to participate. API market is supposed to grow to around 2.2 Trillion and there's going to be banking regulations that makes everything compatitable with ChainLink. This will end up being a huge let down or be the biggest project the crypto economy has ever seen.

>>9021618I don’t think they fully buy it. Hint: we’re now the top bank for trading. They’ve built up a competitive advantage and they’re now too blind to see anything else imo. In internal presentations on blockchain and crypto by our so called “experts” there is an overly skeptical tone that this fad will pass (obviously I think it’s not a fad). They’ll pay the price though. It’s the oldest story of humanity; David vs. Goliath. The young and bold will always overtake the unimaginative authority. DLT + Oracles is tailor made for capital markets functions but that’s difficult to realize if you’ve poured billions into your gcm desk and now you’re at the top of the jungle

>>9022290I am all-in with everything I have. I can literally not buy any more because I don't have fiat left. That's the way of the true Stinky
>>9022359I think thats where smarcontracts advantage comes in. they approach the network and service as a way to connect legacy systems to new world blockchains, instead of trying to completely reinvent the wheel like other oracle providers and startups in this space. just my 2c
>>9022379Mate I took out a personal loan to top up. That’s the true way
lol chainlink
>>9022376this. think of it as a VPN for smart contracts. the node operators will not be able to see the data.
>>9022427ok? and..
>>9021000>The only thing that matters in this life is being right
guys do you think we still have time to accumulate this year? i need to buy more but im not sure if this sudden bump to btc is going to keep up trending.
>>9022402Agreed. And they will develop a fucking “blockchain strategy” when they see the other BBs utilize the technology but it could be too late by then. It’s just very frustrating to be in a culture that lacks innovation purely because we’re now the incumbent leaders. You couldn’t even begin to imagine the amount of manual inputs that I and the rest of my colleagues have to deal with that can easily be replaced by smartcontracts to make our jobs easier. Middle and Back office tasks are ripe for automation and it’s just extremely frustrating to witness a lack of effort into automating those processes
>>9019850or he actually has vision and might be on par to go to the heights of Gates, Zuckerburg and Bezos.
>>9021111Based
>>9022465lol im glad i left the space two years ago personally because of this. back/mid office was already the doldrums but i saw the future of automation and can only imagine the idea of banks salivating at the thought of saving money by cutting staff in those non revenue generating roles.
>>9022427Blockchain agnosticBrainlet chinks unironically believe everyone will use their chink platform
>>9022464yeah u still have some time. but just accumulate in waves - i have confidence in their team but it wont take off completely until another couple of months.
>>9020605We have: Swift AxaWEFSAPETC ETCAnd you're crying the COO is maybe top 5-10% Instead of top 0,01% of brains out there. Go buy Bcash faggot.
>>9020820>probably want the singularity to happen even more for the memes than I want it for the moneyI'm 50/50 memes and money

>>9021332Literally what. Hahaha stinky linkies are so deluded
>>9020132idiot
Where is that shit talking little turd that was digging Link and its HODLERS this morning. Hope the little bastard loses his entire investment.
>>9021243faggot
>>9019850You are clearly an idiot. Stay poor dumbass.
>>9021656>he thinks there's a group
>>9021662its 100% about the company smartcontracts by sergey and steve, native speaker here.
>>9023151Mind translating it?
>>9019649that's funny I used to work at JW Player at the same time as this guy but never met him
>>9020605Then why are you in a Link thread shithead? GTFO, and stay out.
>>9022492Yea unfortunately I’m only 1.5 years out of undergrad and need to “put in my time” to look like a competent good goy. I’m hoping LINK takes off soon so I don’t an hero and end up on dealbreaker another dead stressed banker
>>9020132We aren't going to help you any more. Even though mainnet is in November
