Well their both correct depending on how you interpret the ambiguous equation. It could be (20/5) * (2*2) or 20/(5*(2*2)).

This is why we use fraction notation, to avoid ambiguity.

The former is more correct though as that is how a computer will interpret it.

I would follow PEMDAS and start with the parenthesis. 2*2=4. Then because multiplication and division are of equivalent priority, I go from left to right. 20/5=4. I now have 4(4), which equals 16. This is the way I was taught, so sorry if that's not right.
