credit cards have like 3% fee, businesses can offer lower prices if they don't accept credit cards, and banks don't allow anyone to sell higher to people who use card instead of cash, for those accept CC

crypto _will_ solve this, but banks are taking what they can until

Why not just make the customer pay for the credit card fee.

i mean, they disallow you to accept credit cards but make those who pay with credit card pay the fee you're paying for the banks. so people paying with cash are paying the transaction fee of those who pay with cards. so people who pay with cash and are sensitive to prices will go to a business that doesn't accept CC and therefore is able to offer a lower price

because if you do that you're not allowed to operate a credit card reader

like they're gonna know that your prices are 3% higher

well, you have to let the customers know the price of the goods/services they're buying before they pay. you cannot say that 'if you pay with credit card your prices are 3% higher' or that 'if you pay with cash you pay 3% less'.

the customer will know if they paid 3% more than what they were supposed to pay.

This. With cash you can claim you made less money and pay less taxes that way. If you accept credit, you're not only paying fees but there's a paper trail

because they are practicing illegal activities. this is why the government wants to get rid of cash and move to trackable digital currencies only i.e. (((bitcoin)))
