>>8990048Is this worth $2.5k?
>>8990048At the moment I am buying the OG sealed booster boxes man. The way I see it is people are opening them left right and center. In a couple of decades they are going to be as rare as hens teeth. A dream assett.

>>8990048>not the Japanese edition
I legit sold my entire original 151 or whatever pokemon stack to a autistic kid back in 2002-2003 or something. Had every mon in gold, including several charizards, blastoises etc. I was a mad hustler back in the 90's master trader and borderline scammer of kids in my school i collected all the cards several times over. Also spent all my money buying new cards as soon as i could..Now they are all gone and the funny part is i got 25$ for them back when i sold em, it was alot of money for me back then...
>>8990121So many youtube openings it's actually a great idea. I only have packs and whatnot, need to get boxes.
>>8990237Yeah get boxes man. The problem with packs is that everybody assumes that they have been weighed for Holo's.
>>8990048I have the original Japanese version. I got it inside a pack I bought at Shop Right around 2003. They had a vending machine that they used to stock with all of the expensive Japanese booster packs. Still have it too.

>>8990323Oh you think it's gonna go up in value? It's been inside a protector ever since I got it. I would grade it about an 8-9 probably.
>>8990357Sealed Windows 95? Sealed Playstation 1/2? Hard to say.

>>8990385>Ha yep. People opening these left right and center. Important to keep in mind the box was worth maybe around 10k-20k back then though.so he acutally paid 10-20k for that box?
>>8990396Probably wouldn't hurt to hang onto it, I believe it was the first print that came out in a booster pack in Japan and that's why it has "replica" written somewhere on it. The original championship card gives collector's a boner which is probably what hurts it's value in the first place. In english the first print came out in a booster pack so that's why a good condition 1st goes for hundreds if not thousands.
>>8990433A lot of big pokemon/yugioh/whatever youtubers do this to gain popularity on their channels and end up making more money off the views in the long run. Also get to keep the highly valued cards.

>>8991440Perhaps, as people of our generation get older and richer (Also they are still making new pokemon cards for kids today). I think the sealed boxes are as close to a sure thing as possible, the cards are a bit more unpredictable.
I got some sealed Theme Decks, a rare Collectors box they apparently only gave to shop owners containing the 3 first boosters and a 2-player Starter set. The best is of course the Base Set in a nice original 4map folder.I've been looking for a nice Booster box, but they are just too damn expensive in my eye. The price has risen too damn high in the last 2-3 years. Not even starting on how rare it is to find one without dents or small rips in the seal

Fresh packs always have this good smell. The ones they make today might even have it too.I used to smell at the inside of a newly opened videogame. >Charizard once more proving that he is the best PokemonWhat are the other valuable cards?
>>8991673You could get the 1st edition Fossil, Jungle or Team rocket for less than that I think. Also Base set 2 is around £700 but I am not 100% on that. >>89917181st edition Blastoise and Venusaur are the next best thing that were mass produced. >>9001502All base set Machamp's are 1st edition, I've got like 20 of them or something You want one?
>>8989264I have this card, so?How much is worth?
>>90016115$ to 1000$
>>9001569>>9001502They have to be shadowless.
>>9001569Nah lad, I have one. I was a kid too in the 90's.
>>9001611depends on the conditiongenerally £10-£50 in uk
>>9001721or like £300 £500 £1000 £2000
>>8989264>owned first edition holographic charizard>used it on the elementary school playing grounds to win other normal cards>the holo is incredibly damaged from it grinding on the pavement
>>8991398I bought some packs a few years ago to go on a nostalgia trip and relive the euphoria, the smell of those fresh packs gives an immediate dopamine hit just like in the old days, amazing.
>>9001783Same here bruh. I was big into tournament play and I really despised the scalpers so I took a damage counter and purposely scratched the holo on mine
>>9001743no, Base Set Charizards ungraded are worth what I just said, about 10-50 depending on condition, I got £70 for a NEAR MINT one around the Pokemon go craze but prices have stabilised, unless your talking about a 1st ed or SHADOWLESS those are worth more but still, a standard base set card isn't too much
>>9001783even being heavily played it may be worth something, you still have it? upload a photo
>all these bug men in here who actually know about Pokémon and other gay shitHow’s that soy diet going NEETs?
>>9001975You are poor.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjaRf5_edeE
>>9001975I sell them and make decent money, don't even like Pokemon, thanks to people like you I have very small competition, keep up the great work
>owned alpha black lotus>played with it with every single deck i made until card sleeves were invented (two years later)
>>9002039WOW RARE L@@K
>>9002039Althought Magic is a bit too autistic for me I still like this card.
Give me some good non RL mtg specs. Mtgo is fine too.
This thread been going on for so long desus.
>>9002262Yavimaya Hollow's still kind of affordable if the reason you don't want rl cards are the price.
Here's some good advice guys ; Yardsales/junkmarkets are fucking great for rare finds.Divorcing dads and old people with dementia sell off boxes of good quality cards without knowing jack shit about them.Sure you probably won't find any original sealed booster boxes but I have found more then enough great cards to sell along for bigger investments.God bless ignorance
>>9002574That's a pure edh spec then?
I saved this thread from extinction
>>8989264Just went through all my cards, can't find my charmazard from when I was like 5. Also I found out half my yugioh cards are fake FuCK
Does anyone think the MTG investment market might experience a crash or bubble popping? It seems like the price of eternal staples are just going up and up in a scary manner.I'm reminded of the comic book crash in the 90's when investors turned to comics as a collectible investment, buying out comic stores left and right and sitting on them as guaranteed returns. They did this until the actual audience for the comics were priced out of it and eventually stopped caring. Does anyone think MTG cards might experience a similar sentiment where people just stop caring about MTG because it's too expensive then card prices crash? Not wishful thinking, I have the decks I want, but I feel that things are unhealthy right now.
>>9001462>Btw i just started watching that video, and what the guy call a scratch is literally nothing, my cards are still a bit used but they look like trash compared to his.they're worthless probably
>>9001407it commands that price because of it's very powerful ability and almost every pokemon deck benefits from including it even if they don't use psychic energy. Nearly every deck that considers itself "competitive" is expected to include 2-3 of them to help with consistency.
>>9002919Salute. Its been going strong. #1 too
>>9001699The hell does shadowless mean? I have a Machamp, a Charizard, and Chansey. Then I have this Airydactyl that say "pre-lease" in some gold imprint. Should I hold or sell?
I have this. Only pokemon card I didn't give away when I quit. Inherited it from my brother when he stopped collecting.I remember how fucking jelly I was when he got it from a booster pack, and how happy I was when he gave it to me.
>>9001975Someone has trained you to talk like a nigger
>>9003047>The hell does shadowless mean?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2q4TsfHdH4
>>9003107The shadow is just so damn ugly. Couldn't they have made it more uniform instead of a dark strip along the right? Damn
>>9003128After removing the 1st edition stamp they just decided that it looked to sparse.
>>9003150I think they could have done a much better job with balance and so on
>>9003158For sure, I actually like the sparseness of the shadowless myself.. Though of course I probably have a bias.
>>9002039would be a cool thing to keep on your dashboard or desk at the office
>>8989264Stopped being poor a long time ago. Now what do I do?
>>9003226Rub it in the face of plebs like >>8991046>>8991064>>8991875>>8995045>>9001975
>>9003226sick 'zard bruh
Keepin da thread alive
>>8997726holo?
why dont people just sell the $20,000 charizard cards or what ev on ebay, take the money but send a non first edition? No proof that they didnt swap it out once its delivered
>>8999288nice job, saved
>>9003662>take the money but send a non first editionbecause the person who received it can file a complaint with pictures of the wrong card and ebay will side with the buyer
>>8990048Same with meme money, i love TCG though dont collect seriously. Think investing is worth it even as a hobby?
>muh alpha investment strategykek, when a depression hits guess what goes first
>>9003676Yes but they could be lieing.. just use a stealth ebay account so they cant chargeback
>>9003664>tips hat
>>9003734>I hate fun
>>8991284Holy fuck.
>>8990247Didn't even need to weigh them. Holos were every three packs in the box.
All i have left. And a shitton of bulk.
>>9003980Kek forgot to attach image
And the thread goes on
ooooooooooo just found a new box opening of a 1st edition base set https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ar2BUBhv5Ug
>>9004559It's tragic that he opened it. The price of it would continue to go up, even in 5 years time.
>>9004002japanese cards are so much higher quality and appearance
>>9004794Indeed, he is selling the packs individually. Really poor financial choice.. I hope he gets some ad revenue from the video to make up the difference at least.
>>8989589Depends on the condition of the card.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gk0C8jF_f2g
>>9005025Yeah I like the different holo patterns they use too . the Sapporo Pikachu has the sparkles shinning through the entire card instead of just the character
>>9001711yea but do you have 20? I swear if I was home I'd upload a photo
