Anyways, I was looking into emerging market debt. I found a closed-end fund yielding 14% and it's price has been pretty steady over the last 5 years. Since everything else I have is so shitty and US stocks are so spendy right now I want to park my cash somewhere else.

The fund is primarily South American gov't + corporate debt, Africa and some middle east and other shitholes like Ukraine thrown in. It's actively managed and they seem to be doing something right. It's heavy in oil-producing countries and oil prices are going up, so I was thinking....

Just not sure.

Most of the patterns only have accuracies of about 60%-65%.
It definitely doesn't "work". But, if you're a savant with them, you will make money "on average", but not enough to significantly beat the market.
That said, I used to try learning the patterns because they were interesting and I liked the intuition behind some of them, but I never trade solely off of them.
I'm not one of the fags that'll post TA charts either.

An unfortunate amount of traders who use TA like to see their own bias instead of just trading based on data. IE I want this stock to go up, thus my TA will show it in upward trend, even if the TA really is indicating a downward trend, or vise-versa.

Right now BAC & WFC are showing indicators for a potential trend reversal, into an upward trend, on large interval. On small interval they have been in an upward trend most of the day. On larger interval, they are still in a downward trend.

I think I have been very clear that I have puts on the banks, and I don't think I have tried to mislead with my TA. Just trying to be honest, despite my bias and position.

I've been using Heikin-Ashi w/Ichimoku Cloud and it has worked quite well thus far. I've been shitting out charts and what I think will happen based on charts using those two measurements yesterday & today, be it less so today (Part of that is so I can be shit on if I'm wrong).

teh profit, myself, and few anon were talking about such yesterday. I think teh profit has started to use ichimoku in combination with fib lines. I use MACD & RSI as well to help gauge momentum.

I really like Ichimoku & HA because it is not some bullshit mystical stargazing. It is working with averages, and tends to work quite, not really a lot of guessing involved. HA smooths out even more noise that you would get from normal candles, and you can still use normal candle indicators of potential reversal.

I think combining this TA w/ some basic fundamentals is a good way to determine the most probable direction a stock will move.

Larger intervals indicate downward trend will continue, earlier in-the-day indicators of potential reversal have been cleared. IMO trend reversal has failed.
