I've seen a lot of masternode talks today, and I really don't know a thing about them. I'm not one who trades his stack, so I may as well hold things that generate a passive income? I'd love to hear anything anyone has to say about masternodes. Easy to set up? Worthwhile? Good coins to invest in?

ZEN offers good node rewards, but most of it currently is speculative because the network upgrade has not yet performed. See pic; and lets say the price remains at 35$ with a log. increase in nodes. You'd be making 30-50% by running your node for a year which is quite generous. And that is without accounting for either market or independent growth.

Just take the time and think about DASH early investors. Regardless of a bear market most of them have been making bank with the option to liquidate their node at 100k-1 mil $ through the cycles. DASH was the first iteration of a node project, now we are heading towards a new era where nodes/staking/interest will matter a great deal. My money is on Zen, but LUX also seems nice, Decred and Ark for staking. Komodo for passive interest.

Sounds like a big scam. The ROI seems too little.

Youre all gonna get fucked when masternode coins are going to labeled securities and exchanges are going to delist them

Just sell your shitcoins at ATH, the time you spend waiting for your “masternode” to pay dividends is time that could be spent researching/investing into new projects

I am actually a big fan of this. Been spending some time researching the economics behind various master nodes. It really does depend on your entry, but for Dash for example, for some of the early majority it pays off to stay in. Getting fucked by selling pressure from rewards only happens if you get in late.

>> No.8947435

Why masternode when you can just stake a DPoS coin like Ark. You get paid even if your computer's offline and you don't have to send your coins anywhere.

Same for running a masternode. Coins are safe too. ARK is actually a good coin, but DPOS is something that still has to proof itself in the long term. Meanwhile, incentive nodes have been killing it for some time.

I only have enough for probably one node.
How do you pick a coin for it?
And do I have to cash out and switch to a different coin if it becomes unprofitable? How can I predict this? How long is a node profitable?

DYOR, plenty of info out there.
https://masternodes.online/

ZenCash was not included since they use the term "Securenode"

> And do I have to cash out and switch to a different coin if it becomes unprofitable?

We haven't had enough hyped node coins yet to figure that one out.

> How can I predict this? How long is a node profitable?

When volume decreases and node creation slows down, it may be a good time to start selling

Thanks fren
How long have you kept a node of the same coin? How long is the profit stable or how voliatile is it?

Sorry, also still new to this. But have been researching nodes and their underlying economics for some weeks before I dropped that >>8947133 on ZEN. From what I gathered on DASH is all that matters is entry and growth from that point on. In the end, in terms of profit taking it all comes down as to whether you'd rather take the lump sum at the top of a bull cycle or annuity payments for as long Crypto and the project stays around (through all cycles).

It would be pretty sweet to have continuous passive income. The thing I’m worried about is the coin crashing or no one using it anymore. How can I predict this?

>> No.8948739

>>8948594

Can't really predict the market. But getting behind a team with a lot of transparency, community engagement and frequent updates is a good start. If there is something which you believe will negatively impact the price in the future you can always back out.

I have a masternode in Vantaur. I've made a lot of profit just holding it from the beginning and selling rewards once a month.
