>overpriced

Why? Thoughtful answer citing comparable cars, taking into account running costs would be appreciated.

>low range

What do you consider "low" and why is this meaningful to the average driver?

It seems like for most purposes it is fine and with the expanding supercharger network it will not be an issue.

>restricted by software

What does this even mean? Your phone is probably "restricted by software" - does that mean you should flush it?

>expensive battery that needs to be replaced

Combustion engines also degrade with time and use.

>even lower range if you live some place cold

How much lower? Please provide sources.

>freezing during winter

>>8949419
Yes cite one of a handful of examples where it causes harm (invariably because the driver did not use it properly) and ignore the dozens of times it saved lives.

>overpriced
The Model 3 is affordable. The Model S and X are both very overpriced. Construction and quality control is not up to par for vehicles around the $100k range.

>low range
If you drive the car hard or fast the range drops exponentially. Not a problem for some people, big problem for others. I live in Texas where you drive fast in blazing hot temperatures, neither of which an electric vehicle likes. Superchargers are currently unheard of outside of major metropolitan areas. There are multiple stretches in Texas where there isn’t a supercharger within 600 miles.

>restricted by software
Terrible argument, all cars are restricted by software. Nonsense.

>battery replacement
EV batteries do not last nearly as long as well built ICE engines. People have predicted you’ll need a new battery cell as early as 50,000 miles. I don’t know if that’s true or not but it’s what I’ve read. Very expensive replacement.

The rest of his arguments are also nonsensical.

>What do you consider "low" and why is this meaningful to the average driver?
315 miles is low range when basically any comparably priced dinosaur car will do at least double that
>It seems like for most purposes it is fine and with the expanding supercharger network it will not be an issue.
supercharging your battery basically destroys it, rate of degradation is increased significantly

this is how we get companies like juicero, and partially why google's services have been getting progressively worse and more unintuitive with each passing year
venture capitalism is totally fine—but, it is important that the money that funds things should be earned, and not come from taxes
