It's going to get locked up in nodes. Even if only 10% of the supply is locked in nodes early that number is only going to grow as link is used to pay nodes. A lot of that paid link will be restaked into the nodes because people will want to keep the % they are making off of each transaction consistent. Instead of receiving 10% of the LINK rewarded next month I only get 9.9% but this keeps happening every month eventually the amount of LINK I'm making goes down. I'm incentivzed to keep some of the LINK I've made in the node in order to continue to make more money.

I also provided links to videos that may help him understand overall concepts we are discussing. The first video is most relevant the others are just good videos and great basic knowledge to have. What I'm saying (I guess you forgot to read my post lol?) is that an increase from 100MM total market cap to 1 billion is 10x. You'll make the same % return on your money whether the said coin is 10 cents or $1. Do you understand? I'm not talking about link at all. The guy didn't understand that a 'high' coin price because there's a large supply isn't the method for figuring out whether something is undervalued or overvalued retrospectively.

A good argument to high supply? it's not about supply. LINK could have 10 Billion tokens. That just means each token would be 10 cents if it reached $1B market cap. I used Ripple and Stellar as an example in my previous posts because they also target traditional finance AND they're still not implemented while Ripple hit $140 billion at one point.

You were mentioning the best case scenario for ChainLink and 3.5 billion for a best case scenario is laughable, especially taking into consideration that the market cap will be in multi-trillions.

And yes I know that institutions won't be buying LINK on the free market, jesus christ we're talking about speculative value and whatever profit nodes will bring and the overall network effect that we cannot predict at this point - but the best case scenario could potentially mean $100 which would be, get this, only 1/4 worth of the Ripple's highest valuation of $140 billion in 2017 (so we're not even counting the total increase in cap). I rest my fucking case.

Your argument style is literally just name calling and rapidly changing your arguments. First, it was:
>hurrr huge supply
And you got dispelled. Now it is:
>hurr banks are going to dump on everyone
And pretending like you own a lot of LINK, just to get under everyones skin. This is a last resort because you have no argument to make anymore. People like you need to unironically kill yourself, anon. There's a reason you're sad and lonely.

Johnny has 10$ to spend on shitcoins. Suzie has 20$ to spend on shitcoins.
Johnny buys 5 shitcoins priced at 2$ each. Suzie the next week buys those 5 shitcoins from johnny at 4$ a piece. Johnny made 10$. Suzie spent 20$

Johnny buys 10 poopcoins priced at 1$ each. Suzie the next week buys those 10 poopcoins from johnny at 2$ a piece. Johnny made 10$. Suzie spent 20$

LINK can be broken down into 18 decimal places. Each of those is a divider of 10. 1 LINK = $1,000. .1 LINK = $100. .01 LINK = $10, .001 LINK = $1, .0001 LINK = $.10, .00001 LINK = $.01, .000001 LINK = $.001, until you get to the smallest fraction which is valued at $.00000000000001. You still think LINK can't reach $1,000/token, knowing that even at that number the smallest divisible value of LINK is a microscopic amount of fiat? Theoretically LINK can go as high as will make sense for the expenditure of a single unit, meaning that tiniest fraction probably being worth at minimal $.01 USD, meaning each LINK being worth more money than is on the entire planet. Of course that won't happen because the market won't allow it to, but from a pure financial use perspective it's not outside of the realm of possibility/reality. Supply & demand and real world use case will determine the price of a single LINK token, and $1,000 is well within the realm of possibilities since circulating supply is likely to drop dramatically once staking is a thing.

There are only a handful of mature networks in this space and on the other hand there are tons of networks valued billions of dollars without any real life adoption.

Watch the video, it’s not chainlink, it could be, I don’t know. But 30% savings. If you go to any company and tell them you can save them 30% they will Knight you instantly. Companies will cut anything / corners to save a few dollars, never mind millions. How will smartcontracts do this? That’s another question I don’t have the answers to, expect a significant number of job cuts though.
