Daily reminder that mining Nimiq day one on your CPU is the greatest opportunity since ETH release.

https://nimiq-testnet.com/

>first browser based blockchain
>mini-blockchain technology
>possibility to become a node/mine/transaction directly from your browser in seconds
>nothing to install, just connect on a website and do everything you could do with Bitcoin
>coinhive but totally decentralized and without the 30% fees
>entire new way to monetize internet and to do micro-payments with PoW
>designed from the start to be ultra user friendly
>cute avatar randomly generated for each address
>ultra-competent german team composed of security experts and white hat led by a silicon valley veteran from Switzerland
>20 times more onchain transaction capacities than Bitcoin
>ASIC + quantum resistant (performance based on the cache of your CPU)
>launch before April
>totally under the radar

Mine it even with your playstation or your fridge if you can.

The current version on the testnet is the release candidate, they delivered it the 2 April. Right now they are doing interface tweak and the last stress tests the network + testing the mining client and the pool for browser mining.

They even say this could have been released last week without a single issue but they are perfectionists and have an autistic attention to detail (which is kind of annoying as everyone want it out already).
With that in my mind I would say they will announce a date this week and release the next one, I heard they are doing some QA with some guys in the community.

It's a good thing if you bought in March but if you are waiting for the mainnet since November of the last year it gets old.

At one point you have to take a decision and release because it will never be perfect anyway (despite having vastly superior user experience than any coin around).
Everyday without mainnet is one missed opportunity, especially since the market is going sideway and there is not too much noise compared to the last months, now is the perfect window for a launch.

I see what you’re saying, but at the same time I trust that they’re aware of the circumstances and wouldn’t allow that to damage their efforts. Germans want everything to be perfect, and I’m guessing they’ve evaluated having a perfected product a bit later as being a better outcome than an imperfect product sooner.

You tell me, I'm bullish because imo it's the first real normie friendly coin.
Electroneum did a good effort at it (and made me some good gains in january) but the developers are overall just too mediocre, also the concept was not pushed to its limits like with Nimiq.
Everyone think his bags will make him rich though but I'm convinced it has the potential to become viral.

Kek that's some bottom tier demoralization.
But it's true that I don't care about doing money on mining, I care about coin distribution on the long term and the less the hashrate and coins are concentrated in the hands of rigfags the better it is for the whole project, devs picked an egalitarian algo for a reason.

I will keep talking about it everywhere and as loud I can so that a lot of people can be on board for the launch, how does it make you feel?

Tbh still comfy, my bags are loaded and waiting in genesis. If mining is infested with pajeets there's nothing I can do. However if the anon telling it was larping, hashrate will still be low and you won't make a difference F

NET are ERC 20 tokens that were distributed during the ICO.
1 NET can be converted in 100 NIM, in total all the NET (10 500 000) correspond to 1.05 billion pre-mined NIM (in total there will be 21 billions NIM, basically just like Bitcoin but x1000).

You can convert through their KYC if you contact their community manager (however if you are american you can't because of some legal thing in the US, the whole thing will remain open for 6 months).

Once you pass the whole process you have basically access to an account converting the NET you send to it in NIM automatically.

If you can't pass the KYC and have NET just wait for the mainnet, there will most likely be a ton of people doing arbitrage on the NET/NIM value, some guy already talked about a bot on their discord.

tl;dr: you can but you are not forced

Holy shit one of the rare good threads on /Biz/
Getting 3.9KH/s on i5-2400 4 threads 100% cpu usage cpu temps at 47c. currently I have 0.0039/3.0= 0.0013 or 0.13% of miming a block.
That means that 769 blocks need to be tried for me to have 100% chance to mine 1 block. Right now there are aproximately 2-3 block/min, so i need 5 hours to mine 1 block. Site says 11 hours since 3.9 is my max and falls sometimes.
This reminds me of PacalCoin, made some nice 20$,missed a day could have been 200.
