pajeet-jew hybrid, buying low selling high was basically the end game content. Well, that, or grinding shitty missions. As a living mp game shit changes, gear goes out of the drop pool, some gear only buyable in a limited time frame and it's unknown if it'll be available again, so you sniff the market for what's gonna be hot and in low supply. In fourth grade my school had really good chocolate chip cookies.

The price was ten cents a cookie or 25 cents for three. This blew my mind as a kid. I typically had about ten or fifteen cents extra from lunch or enough for one cookie. I realized that all I had to do was save my cookie money for three days or so and I saved 5 cents. Basically a free cookie in 6 days.

I had learned the value of saving money, buying in bulk and patience. I took it a little to the extreme. Saved for almost two weeks. Enough to buy 9 cookies at one time!

The lesson was almost complete. Then a little nigger kid begged for a cookie. I tried to explain that I had saved for two weeks to do this. Told them no. They swore and called me fat. In the end though no cookie for him!

Finally wised up to high turnover Jita trading and learned how to make 100bil a month with 50bil of capital. Got a side dose of RSI and PTSD along with it. Last thing I did in game was ascend to the ranks of trusted third party and hold collateral worth about 600 billion for MD projects. For me it was tf2 that unleashed my inner Jew. I know the market isn't as snazzy as it is in MMOs, but I grew up a poorfag, so I couldn't afford a subscription to WoW or EVE. What's interesting about tf2 is that you can consistently make a couple scrap in profit every trade. I used to shark a lot. Sharking is where you go to a server, view the inventories of people there, and compare it to their playtime. If someone has a key and only 5 hours of playtime they might not know about trading. So what you do is trade him and offer a couple neat weapons in exchange for his key. I tried getting into quickswitch scamming, but it never worked out. But what really made big bucks back when tf2 trading was actually a thing was unusuals. I was able to earn multiple keys in a single trade doing that. I cashed out to buy a server for me and some friends. Eventually the host just stopped hosting it. He had what he wanted (my items) and had no reason to keep hosting it. I learned the importance of always keeping wanting something from you from that.

It still worked out though. I managed to scavenge through my inventory for enough to by a cheap unusual to get back into the game. Started trading that unusual and made 10 keys in a single day. The scrap inflation has caused it to go down quite a bit since then. Keys are the only store of value in that game. Although trading is pretty much dead these days. Fear mongering made inflation a lot worse than it actually was. Valve killed the convenience of trading by requiring people to jump through all kinds of hoops and hurdles. It's just not viable these days. A bit of a shame, I enjoyed it. It's not surprising that they died though, they did hire a Greek minister of finance to oversee the economy. lol
