Thanks for the enlightenment, anon. Is there an example of someone doing that or are you trying to share your new found logic in a sarcastic ?

He's right
Hypothetically: if he bought one whole bitcoin for $5 and its value increased to $10, that's a $5 profit
If he bought one whole bitcoin for 2 cents and its value increased to 7 cents, that's only a 5 cent profit

The coins are of different starting values. You have to put in the same amount of capital for your experiment to be fair.
$5 worth of a $0.02 coin will give you 250 coins.
$5 worth of a $5.00 coin will give you one coin.
$0.02 coin rises to $0.07. You now have 250(0.07)=$17.50.
$5 coin rises to $10. You now have $10.00
$17.50 > $10.00.
