Has anyone here ever tried growing and marketing spirulina? I'm looking for something to do while I wait for my crypto gamble to pay off. I'm also interested in other healthfoods that I can grow and market, specifically superfoods and stuff that I can forage for, either for nutrition or to market as a holistic cure for hippies and health nuts. I'd probably want to sell at the farmers market I generally way of any goverment licesning/regulation because I don't like talking to people or explaining myself. I have other stuff that I can sell at the farmers market too like Kimchi (great markeup for cabbage and peppers) and fresh moringa olfeifera.

I also have an interest in the herbal supplement industry as a whole. Most of these supplements contain common plants and they end up selling for hundreds of dollars per pound. What kind of capital and what else do you need to get a supplement brand going? I think it's an absolute goldmine. Where I live palmettos grow wild and make berries once a year. People go out and pick them and when demand is high price can reach up to $5 a pound. It's possible to make $500 a day picking berries. The berries are processed into pills and sold at an extremely high markup.

Anyway healthfood/home business general

This is literally what I'm working on right now.

I have a brand, LLC, etc up and running. I already sell matcha wholesale to companies in my city (one of which has some of my product in costco). Ginger, Turmeric, and Spirulina are next on my list.

I have lots of connections and am pretty good at marketing, but I'm a bit disorganized. If you have good organizational skills, are US based, and have some capital, I could use a partner.

hit me up on my throwaway and we can set up a skype meeting if your interested in discussing it.

Isn't spirulina really really toxic if you grow it improperly?

Look into moringa and kratom. Another thing would be broccoli sprouts and seeds. The sulforaphane is highly sought after by health enthusiasts.

WHo cares dude my target market is the kind of people that thinks government nutritional testing is aligned with the agroindustrial complex. Buyer beware! There's evidence that it kills you even when raised properly. People want it, they're gonna get it.

That's dope man. I don't have any capital or talent. I'm just thinking about ways that I can make $1-2000 a week from my backyard. Are you planning on growing spirulina or just marketing it? What got me into this is that there's a farm south of me doing it that's selling 'Live" spirulina, which you basically can't get anywhere-- because of economies of scale. Anyway I want to sell live spirulina at a premium price and reap the added benefit of capital intensive processing equipment.

There is a market for unradiated turmeric. Look into it. Most of the shot from China is bleached and radiated to shit so make it organic and natural and people will seek it out

Fresh organic turmeric root sells for $8/lb and is easy to grow. Perhaps indoor setup could cut the grow time in half.

I won't be growing it. I basically just distribute/market stuff under my label. If I ever get big enough I'll try and start setting up my own production facilities. But I'm not fucking with that right now, not enough money or expertise.

I'm down with Moringa. Kratom almost killed my girlfriend. She basically became addicted to it and lost 95% of her kindey function. I dont think its very safe.

>>8763827
Just marketing it my dude. If you get up and running and get organic certified, hit me up on that email. I might buy some from you. Good luck

You need to find it from a country I won't name thats just near by. Alibaba will not be your friend in this case. Also, to be competitive here in the states you'll need to find a really cheap way to ship it if you plan on selling it anywhere else than your own website.

I think I will hit you up after I get started. How did you get into health food distribution? I'd like to be able to sell shit to healthfood stores one day. How do you approach them?

Do you need help distributing in Oregon? I have my workers permit and a large dispensary contact list from my part time job delivering for another distributor.
