Those partnerships are phony balloony... Yeah they will use Tangle and the so called technology behind IOTA. But you gotta ask yourself wth that use even has to do with a currency in the first place...

That being said, even in best case scenario it works as intended, would you really want a crypto that has a light cryptography? I can't see the future and maybe I'm wrong, but to me IOTA being a relevant crypto doesn't sound likely.
