As a concept, yes, but in reality the distribution is too skewed for it to be a safe investment. Maybe whatever is still around in 50-100 years - if any of this is - will all have been redistributed enough for it to make it "safe", but right now you just need to be an asshole who bought a few years ago to have enough power to tank the market.
