Money curbs the sadness but only temporarily and leaves you needing more. It is a drug.

But you might as well do drugs. Much more effective.

Protip: The longer you hold it in, the harder it’ll be to get out. Have a bite to eat (unless you’re already full then don’t eat because it’ll make you feel bloated and worse), drink a cup of coffee and then drink more fluids. Dehydration can cause constipation.

Maybe even have two cups of coffee. Vitamin C helps too. Drink a glass of orange juice, then a glass of milk. Your body will be like “what the fuck are you doing to me” and you’ll be shitting in no time.

How do you become frugal?

Simple. You stop spending money, you *think* about what you spend money on, you track your spending, you create and live on a budget.

Every single person I know could cut 25% of their daily spending easily, and not notice any difference. Most people throw money away on convenience, impulse purchases, ad driven "gotta have it" purchases, and just plain old waste.

Most people I know:
>Have gym memberships they don't use
>Pay for cable stations they don't watch
>Don't cook
>Have no idea how much money and debt they have at any given moment
>Live check to check
>"Shop" out of boredom
>Are easily influenced into buying shit they don't need
>Hoard things like food and cleaning supplies and hygeine products.

I live well. I try to buy the best quality I can, for things that will last. I don't buy "stuff". I don't have cable. I don't spend $6 on a $.25 cent cup of coffee. I don't buy anything "this year's model", I buy last year's, at a steep discount.
I keep a day or two at most worth of food on hand at all times.
I know, usually to $25 less or more, how much is in the bank at all times, and I know how much debt I have. I just paid off a car, so I have only my monthly bills, and a credit card I pay off every month. I'm about ready to ditch my cell phone, as I've proven I can go months without needing more than a flip phone.
I don't drink, do drugs, go to the doctor needlessly, I take care of myself, especially my teeth, and I don't smoke.
Not spending money is not hard. Saving money is pretty easy, and you don't need to be an extremist NEET who puts his pee in the toilet tank, to save $.01 cents worth of water.

It used to be normal that young men would live with parents, until they married, or they lived very frugally until then. I lived in an apartment building that was built at the turn of the century, and it was designed for single men - efficiency studios, basically. The housing boom created this fantasy that a single person NEEDS a whole house to themselves, to sell more houses. I'm older, and when I was in high school and college, nobody lived alone, you had roomates or lived at home to save up a down payment for a house later on.
As long as your parents don't care, you help out, and you're working, fuck what anyone else has to say about it, especially in areas like NY, SF, or LA, where housing prices are insane.
I moved back home after college, I don't mind admitting it. I helped out around the house, worked full time, and when I had about 10k saved up, and moved up in my job salary-wise, I moved out around 26. Granted, having your own apartment is better, but living at home was pretty comfortable, but I got along with my parents, and I contributed around the house, instead of paying rent. I probably saved my dad about 100K over the years helping paint, redo bathrooms, redo drywall, and doing the landscaping for him - and learned a ton about how to do all that shit.
If you're a NEET, who doesn't contribute, and expects mommy and daddy to pay their bills and cook their food and do their laundry, and sits on their ass posting here or playing video games, I have no respect for that at all.

>> No.8732179

>>8732134
Amen.

I also pay a little rent but the idea is until I have enough saved to pay for at least 50-60% of a house I really feel no need to rent or move out and watch it slowly chip away my bank account. Also not interested in mating until I have the proper financial foundation.

Never buy steroids from that creep at the gym or milk from the store lads. It's no good and way too expensive. Instead, you should buy a gf and put her on the medication to start lactating, then just milk her everyday. Much cheaper legal source of milk and HGH.

This is pretty much me, except I have a new car that I'm in the middle of paying off, drink often, and can't live without a cell phone, as nice as it does sound. Although I can probably get away with using my work phone and would consider it.

Some things I do:
>check the price of oil and petrol every few days, but more at fuel up time once when it seems to be dipping
>rotate online savings account funds into US Treasury Bills via Treasury Direct to increase interest earned (recently beating bank rates) and protect it from state income tax
>don't pay for city permit parking, get good at finding free spots
>pay for a good high speed internet connection to cover all entertainment wishes, never pay for cable (insane people still do this)
>load up on basic food stuffs at Aldi every now and then; spices, baking supplies, staples, etc
>only use top tier rewards credit cards, never, ever carry a balance
>run Android burner phone ad apps to make about $10-$15 a month in pure passive income
>own 2-3 weeks worth of underwear and shirts so as to minimize laundry doing needs
>get hair cut really short and only get it cut 4-5 times a year for special occasions (cutting it yourself is ideal)
>run heat and ac only when absolutely needed (below 32f, above 80f), dress warm, have warm sheets
>get worn out dress/work shoes fixed for a few bucks instead of buying a new pair

Get your internet at local library. Movies at local library. Go to YMCA and tell them you are a rapefugee and they will give you discount. Attend seminars at library and local college. Join clubs you will be too busy to spend money and usually free donuts and coffee.

Next start studying something seriously, and join a group and study with teh group and get in on the girl. If you are non retard and study with a woman who sees you study something she likes with a passion and she realizes doing nothing with you is fun you are on. Just take it slow before you try to fuck her. Literallly like 3 months at least. Just study something with her that you like. Language, business, programming, getting certs whatever just do it all the time with her. Studying make syou smart and is free!

The next one is the champ move it keeps you healthy, thin, and is really affordable. You only drink water. and one meal a day is just plain sticky rice. half a cup sticky rice. Another meal of the day is half a cup sticky rice mixed with stir fry meat and reduce vegetables from the market. So cheap thinly cut beef or pork mixed with oyster sauce and minced garlic , soy sauce, reduced vegetables(mushrooms, bell peppers, celery, broccoli etc..) and you will always have red onions, and carrots in the mix on top of white sticky rice (sriracha, and sesame oil, pepper spice it up.) Break fest every day is 5 eggs. Literally will make you jacked and is cheap. If you are degenerate poor steal tuna for your brain and muscles. Do not drink, smoke, do drugs.

1. Pay down all debt ASAP. This include student loans, car payments, and credit card debt. Having $0 debt should be your default, not some lofty goal you hope to achieve one day.

2. Get stable job with highest possible salary you think you can snag.

3. Live in dirt cheap apartment or live at parents house if you can while you work.

4. Learn to tolerate boredom and/or depression. Things will not make you happy, they will only send you deeper in debt.

5. Save most of your paycheck and invest it in a diverse portfolio.

6. Wait several years for investments to return significant gains.

7. Avoid lifestyle creep. Extra money earned should be extra money saved, not something to be thrown away on a fancier apartment or expensive car.

90% of the effort here is reducing your debt to zero and avoiding lifestyle creep. The problem isn't saving money in the short term, it's that too many people get bored and give into spending their savings.
