Not ringing the bell edition

Popular brokers for stock trading:
Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

Interactive Brokers
>$1 commission per 100 shares. $10k minimum to open, $3k if 25 or under. Lowest margin interest. Free API access
http://www.interactivebrokers.com

TD Ameritade
>$6.95 commission per trade. No minimum to open. Fantastic data/charting through their free ThinkorSwim service

>Gold Is Getting BTFO
i had an autism about this the other day.

gold IS getting BTFO again.
but it does seem like its building though, doesnt it? ive been watching it. since the beginning of the year its been bouncing between a tight support and resistance since 2018 started. and the support actually just tightened up this last run. there must be a lot of buyers. the thing with gold is that since its run, its been trapped under 1350/oz. this is because most of the gold in the world is held by central banks and the IMF. they are constantly lending it and just generally getting rid of it, hence it is being shorted at that level. think of it like crypto in terms of whales (actually gold is even MORE controlled than some cryptos in this regard).

so we combine this fact and we can account for the permanent resistance. but like i said, the support just tightened up, and it ran up to 1350/oz in a day. must be a result of the panic and inflation that is going on. but its still stuck because central bankers short it.

now, imagine how many people must have fuck huge limits set on the far side of that 1350/oz, to have a last minute ohshit button against a huge sudden dollar collapse/gold breakout. i believe it has the potential to breakout a little, but only if the banks stop selling it. the problem is, i cant figure out whether or not central banks would continue to sell it in a fiat collapse. since they have literally most of it (and assuming that it would be adopted again as a general currency), they could continue to sit on it (which would allow them to raise the price of gold) or short it. thus they would still have absolute control over all wealth in the world. literally nothing would change.

TL;DR even in fiat collapse scenario, i think well still have to deal with these assholes.

He's not lying. The Post Office has operated in the red for decades, and Amazon is just making it more red. It's not keeping it afloat, it's in the red, period - to be keeping it afloat, it would have to be breaking even, which it's not. Amazon has used every angle they can find to profit, and they do need to be reined in a bit. The whole tax thing is a build up to getting congress to pass an e-commerce bill, which amazon and all the other online retailers are fighting. I use Amazon CONSTANTLY, and I pay very little sales tax, and I always check off the "I did no commerce on the internet" thing on my tax forms. That's what Trump is gonna go after, and this is all just the prelude to that.

Wake the fuck up. Trump ALWAYS has an agenda, and it's always pretty clear what he's thinking.

And, Amazon IS destroying small shops and businesses.

Again, with Trump, you can't take what he says at face value. His agenda is what matters, and he's telegraphing what he's gonna be working on in the future - post office reform, e-commerce taxes, and revitalizing small business. Amazon is just his convenient punching bag - he probably sits in the Oval Office and thinks "They make enough money there, they can afford to take a hit for a while". That's how Trump operates, and has for decades. All you little faggots act like this is new behavior for him.

My area is shit for the USPS. If I order off Amazon and the shipping says "USPS", I know it's probably going to be late, not get delivered, or delivered to the wrong place, or it will be in my mailbox, mangled and chewed up. If shipping is by Amazon, it's on time, early, not chewed up, and on my doorstep, with a photo to prove it got delivered.
I know USPS "quality" can vary region to region, and also down to each truck/carrier. We had THE WORST carrier for our area, she (fat sassy black woman" would just shove shit into our mailboxes and wreck shit. I guess enough people complained, because we have an asian dude who does a little better now. A little. He mangles some stuff, but not as much.

Used to worse. Our regional hub must have been completely fucked. I once did a test - I had my mom send a postcard from her place in NY to me here in CA - one to my office half a mile away, and one to my apartment. The one for the office made it in 3 days. The one to my apartment? 3 WEEKS. Turns out they go to different hubs, my office and apartment are on the edge of the line where the two coverage areas meet.

the fact that you think the current times are any more or less volatile than the last decade shows that you havent been paying attention at all

He's right. If you are new then stop playing with complex financial products like leveraged ETFs, or options, or short positions, or whatever else you've read about on investopedia and think you understand, because you don't.

Buy some shares on a fundamentally strong company, go long for a few months and see how you did. Remember the short term market is just a popularity contest, long term it's a weighing machine. Much easier to bet correctly over long term like Buffet did.

And for the love of God, >>8724715

We're in a transitional phase that could go bear very easily. Some say it's a hiccup and that we're in the middle of a 20 year bull run, the other end of the spectrum are the people who are convinced the whole thing is gonna crash.
Pick your spot, and trade accordingly.
Me, I'm all longed with traditional investments. I don't want or need to puke my guts out daily during times like this. I'm going with "hiccup". If my shit goes down, eh, I have plenty of time to wait for it to go back up. I'm not trying to make a living off it day trading.

Remember, you call bear markets after several months of activity, not a week.
