There is also Sofort-Überweisung (Insta Pay)
for €-Transactions but it sux.
They are working on it, due to the pressure of cryptocurrencies.

Transactions take time, as they are processed in batches and require communication between the corresponding banks.
Also, if the bank is closed, no transaction is processed.

Automation can lead to fuck ups.
Fuck ups lead to litigation and suing customers.
Which in turn are expensive.

Yes but in the UK you have this system literally called ‘Faster Payments’ that takes just a few minutes for UK based transfers, can’t be unique to us right?

incidentally I heard Coinbase is gonna support UK faster payments through Barclays. Pretty comfy unless you shorted the bottom

Not said it cannot be done.
It just needs a fuckload of additional infrastructure, legal framework, testing, security...

Thing is, it could be way faster, but every bank keeps the money for some time at purpose. In this time the bank "owns" it and it is used.
