Well since we're making 4chan history with our first economics board, I feel we should provide newcomers with some basic introductory knowledge, just because I'm sure none of us want to see Schlomo get his hands on some greenhorn's shekels.

One trick I expect to see plenty of here is the Pump and Dump, where someone, let's call him Mr. Cohen, buys up a bunch of cheap and volatile stock, and then starts announcing that this stock belongs to a highly promising company that recently went public whose price is expected to go up a few hundred percent in the next few weeks (a claim which superficially seems to be supported by the price fluctuation caused by Mr. Cohen himself). The goyim start buying into it and when there's a decent bit of demand built up, Mr. Cohen sells all his stock and sends the price crashing, walking away with his bag of silver.
