Popular brokers for stock trading:
Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

The market isn’t bottoming out. The stock market has been at all-time highs, and still is. The crypto market, on the other hand, is bottoming out because everyone is realizing that every cryptocurrency is more useless than the next. FOMO was the only thing that soared the prices, but that’s gone now. People realized that they weren’t missing out on anything. If you’re planning on making money in the crypto world, good luck!! You’re going to need it.

This is a really interesting earnings release. Quite a lot of good things in here. Increased revenue, increase cash holdings, lower long term debt. One thing that's sort of buried here is that ARMS is not really a manufacturing company any more. They're now licensing their yeasts to other companies, in particular Royal DSM. Over 60% of ARMS's revenue comes from one licensing deal to DSM. That's what drove the entirety of their revenue growth. I dont know enough to say if this is a good thing or a bad thing in the short term, but when one customer makes up 60% of your revenue, they have a lot of power.

Either way, congrats to the AMRS shillers.

I have said it repeatedly, but the tech growth of the previous decade is over. Those are already stocks for boomers.

The next growth and disruption will be anything related to modifying, fixing, enhancing and imitating/replacing humans and biological entities.

So, biotech, AI and automation.

That said, interest rates on bonds are so abysmal atm, that you may want to go 25% bonds, 75% stock.

I think although P/E's are high, it's justified since interest rates are so low. so p/e's in the high twenties are acceptable imo.

well im in AMRS right now, so im mostly focused on that. people will definitely be taking profit, and scalpers will come in for sure, so itll probably be down (from the gap, respectively). but long term looks fucking insane. im gonna try and grab a swing position in addition to my long one.

as for the rest of the market, its friday so a lot of people will be taking profits. and we got FED news next week so lots of things will be tumbling. probably going long vol, maybe even all week.

another play ive been eyeing is 3x leveraged short semis (SOXS). semis have been on a run lately, and for really no goddamned reason. eventually big guys will take their profits and the whole sector will roll over hard. im using the SOXX as reference to price here, not SOXS, which is what im long on (its pretty cheap at like $10)
>wait for break below 188.70
>buy SOXS
>be prepared to hold through a bull trap
>avg down if i can
>stoploss at 199
>first target at 181.40
>second target at 175.73
or i might just wait for the bulltrap and buy SOXS it as SOXX falls through 188.70. it sucks having to hold short through 3x leveraged on a booming industry. especially with how those leveraged etfs work. gap ups in the market fuck you up very quickly. and expense ratios actually matter if youre holding for a month like i might have to.

what are you guys thinking of playing in the near term? i feel good about today and want to make some more good long term calls. getting kinda sick of locking in losses on nickel and dime shit all the time. want to make a bigger move while im riding high, you know?

>there is a lot more to that company that has recently turned from the fucking brink, back into something that could be very very profitable in the future.
i understand that.
>could be very very profitable in the future
heard that on many many many pump and dumps.

after awhile it is so fucking easy to spot pump and dumps especially when they have millions of commons to dump into low liquidity, the trick is when to get in them and when to get out of them, knowing when they convert, how they convert and how long it takes to clear is key.

i understand that they are "turning the company around" but there is still shit management in place within a year or two they will start selling off assets and move onto something else and issue more convertable investments. This is such a common practice for corporations.

Most seasoned traders saw this coming from miles away and are profiting on it. I'm taking my profit tomorrow and buying as many puts as i can the next couple weeks while people are unloading their huge positions they've been holding onto.

I think AMRS is finally turning around but it will pay for its past as a debt ridden meme stock

im aware of it. im just going to take it one quarter at a time though, so in the mid term, im not worried in the slightest. im certain it will pop up on some bigger peoples radar now, where it was just a pennyshit pump and dump scam to them a couple months ago.

>I'm taking my profit tomorrow and buying as many puts as i can the next couple weeks while people are unloading their huge positions they've been holding onto
im gonna try and take a swing entry tomorrow or maybe in a few days, but im with you on the puts. might get a couple 7.50 puts if they get cheap at any point in the near term. definitely some 10s too if we end up getting past there anytime soon. just wanna cover my ass for if the shoe DOES come down

i think some sectors will definitely go up and outperform in spite of an overall pullback in the indexs.

if things look good next week i might go long on the 2x nasdaq (QLD) as its been consistently staying above water and actually made new highs a week ago. even with the FED tightening everything up, things are more or less going on as usual, so why wouldnt some businesses do just fine in this environment? i just cant be more specific as to which sectors, as this is all a hypothetical based on the assumption that the overall markets will pullback in the mid term.

Really, without the US, other shitholes’ products will have nowhere to go

I don’t think Trump is a bellicist. And i think he knows he is mainly dealing with faggy soyboy technocrats and he will prevail just by flexing some muscles and showing no intent of backing down. His staff is mainly comprised of «hawks»

Either way, there will be two possible outcomes. One, he wins and the other countries accept to negotiate new deals. Second, he doesn’t lose, made in USA becomes hype again and the other countries keep their crap to themselves. «B-but my burgers and toys will become more expensive» come on, you don’t need that shit anyway and the jobs coming back and the higher wages will offset all that

thats the beauty in these companies that have convertable instruments in their filings, they follow a pattern and each have a way of converting, some have a conversion of lowest 3 trading days (usually in OTC though) and some that have lowest of VWAP in a 20 day range. there are different ways of converting but you can watch when it's being held down in a certain fashion and if you watch the share structure enough you can see when they're dumping and when they're just shaking people out. They haven't dumped yet, their float has remained the same, once that float starts growing though, down trend will commence and then sideways then O/S will grow and then uptrend will start again.

I made money on it on this run up and hope to make money on the run down, it's an active stock with active management which makes good trading.

Some are sleepers which will stay in a trading range for 6 months while they convert and explode overnight, which don't make for good trading but a good lotto play.

>>8368124
it makes a good trade, but when it comes to trading i try to keep it realistic because i've been burned before even after having major gains in a company that was "turning around" thats why ill be taking profits, the company doesn't know me and doesnt care about me so i don't care about it. So i take money and run

they could sell it elsewhere, but at a fuck huge loss. so sadly, this is very true. i think germany would do fine though. everyones favorite waifu nikkei might actually get a boost if we dont block jap products. they make all the stuff that china makes badly, and actually give a fuck about it. they might gain some market share for their tech products, but their auto industry might get fucked. trump made a good deal with abe though so i bet theyre fine.

the US will likely go into a bit of an adjustment period economically, but we needed china to fuck off at some point. they were practically robbing us, and the effect on all industries other than shitty malevolent "tech giants" was crippling. we are in sore need of some industry.

I understand that sentiment. I've posted macro fundamental stuff here before, and in other threads in the past (>>8367310 this is also me too, btw). Mainly stuff to do with the Fed/ yield curve/ growth stuff.

With active trading though, I just view markets as a battlefield, with everyone (or all the algos) fighting to make money. Don't often have time to sit and talk about every fundamental thing causing a particular movement, or what I think might happen.

Holy fuck.

I still don't think the company is good for the long term. Their drop in fuel additive replacement crashed and burned. Muck Daddy went literally nowhere. Their recent shift to fragrances and cosmetics was driven by the need to find products that command a high price to justify the cost of bio based production.

At this point I feel like Amyris is a shittier version of Ginkgo Bioworks. That's an IPO I'm looking forward to.
