Why is everyone so angry about this? If mtgox sold off slowly, then they aren't as certain of the price they'll sell at. If they do instantly, they'll move the price down.Selling off over a couple of months since a reasonable thing to do, especially given the asset is essentially worthless and people are currently willing to pay for it.

>>8225646If he is, he's risking it all. If he gets caught he's fucked.
>>8223248Dudes going to end up dead if he keeps up shit like this, to much money involved. Imagine how pissed people who had thousands and millions of dollars in these currencies are, they just lost whole fortunes because of this one asshat. And lets be honest this entire market is kind of sketchy and by proxy im sure organized crime is involved in some of them. He basically took a huge piss on hundreds if not thousands of unhinged peoples heads that likely have money and connections.
>>8226707>If he gets caughtI mean, that's what all crime involves, it's the highest risk-reward there is
>>8226733I'll bet he's not alone and is probably just a scapegoat, the powers that be probably wanted it this way
>>8226793Besides literal gambling.
>>8226793This is Japan. The odds of this guy actually trying to pull shit like this in a high-profile case like this are incredibly small.

>>8226733organized crime and terrorists are definitely involved in everything crypto.i'd bet its used as dirty money transfer between gvt entities aswell
>>8223120Surely this man has to be held accountable for crashing a market which will affect millions of people's lives? Will all his phones, laptops etc. be seized because it seems obvious there is some inside trading going on. Unfortunately I doubt anything will be done about this and he's going to walk away Scott free.

>>8227702Actually this is stupid sorry. It's a free market just gotta accept that we're absolute fucked and there's nothing we can do about it.
>>8227707No it isn't. Normal markets are backed by physical things and are worth most of what they say they are. Crypto is 100% funbux. It's backed by nothing more than the collective real money used by everyone buy into it.

Nobody is going to kill Gox's bankruptcy trustee for doing his job. Because nobody who actually matters in crypto was retarded enough to take out their life savings and stretch their credit to the limits, buy in at 19K unironically believing it would hit 1 million. Literally only redditards did that. You're fucked. You're fucked because you're an idiot. Not because some malevolent entity is manipulating bitcoin. This guy has bitcoin. He needs to sell it as part of his job. And it's his right to do that. Besides. Crypto is supposed to be decentralized. Free of coercion by some central economic policy. This is what you wanted. This is the future you chose.
>>8227858>And it's his right to do thatI disagree morally with this idea
>>8227895>I disagree with economic freedom when it inconveniences me
One last bump that this brainlet thread doesn't deserve:He likely opted to market dump instead of arranging a private transfer because the only people who privately transfer huge quantities of BTC like that are fucking criminal scum. Even bankruptcy trustees have morals.
>>8227907>being forced by the government to sell stolen goods at market price is economic freedom

fucking hell I got loads of normie folk who were about to FOMO into crypto hard but the dump really changed the public opinion, after that came the memes and the scams, this market is ruined for now, fuck this jap so hard
>>8227858He's selling them BECAUSE of the centralized powers telling him he has to. The future we wanted would be for him to return those BTC to their owners.

>>8228744if you can still contribute to a roth IRA, I'd say you should take a second look at that. IDk what the rest of your investments look like, but pulling out 5% to 10% of your crypto and moving it into a non taxable account would be a good move, potential upside isn't as high as it would be in crypto, but with gains like that, you should really lock in enough profit to pay your taxes if you have to, and move at least a little to more conventional investments.I'm say I didn't take action when my 10k total initial hit 60k in january.I owe taxes on about 30k net gains, and want to move money into an ira but never took enough profit and am now sitting at about 30k overall, so rough estimate of 7k owed in taxes all told. unfortunately I was in the lower 1/6th of the 25% tax bracket, so If I had known and planned better I might have been able to lower taxes.anyway, I peaked at 60k, and owe 7k of taxes, so it would have been a great time to pull out 10k,15k even 20k to secure money for taxes and cover my initial, and dump the rest into a roth for long term, but now that my portfolio fluctuates from 30k to 35k with 5k locked up in ICOs that money has a much larger effect, so someone like you should really take advantage of your position.although you probably don't need my lecturing, don't mean to sound condescending, just trying to help

>>8228906update. gratz if you shorted.
>>8229187>>8229187shorted last night, but I still haven't learned patience, moved my sell prices too low, got nervous when we moved back up for a bit. added to position to raise initial, but it was still stupid. BTC: 1.55 short at 5x average sell at 8946ETH: 7 short at 5x average sell at 679have lost money, and recently finally pulled out a large chunk of my shitcoin positions because I reached the point where another even medium sized dip would fuck me over because I need some of the money.i think a big eth crash is more likely, aiming for 475-400 range, but also hoping for another big btc crash based on what the volume looks like.I still think it's unlikely, but if we break 5800, I'll be very happy
