Just letting you guys know that bitcoin got some nice fomo in germany today. One of the most popular live shows that talks about all kinds of crazy things once a month had a 20min clip on bitcoin.
First they asked people on the street what bitcoin was and nobody knew anything, then they explained it in a short clip.
Afterwards they showed a 40+yo women who got 50k profit from investing in crypto 1 year ago and she blew it on a car and holiday.
Then they made a test in Cologne where they ordered a coffee in a restaurant and tried paying with bitcoin, no problem. Allthough the transaction cost was 1,3€ while the coffee costed 2,5.
Followed by live moderation where a hot business toth fudded bitcoin as a currency and the IT expert was praising it as a way of anonymous way of transaction and the benefits of decentralized systems for the financial world, tax etc. After the toth was done fudding the moderator asked her: "but you also have bitcoin?" then she smiled and fudded again "yeah I bought 100€ worth just to try it out hehe". Then they asked the IT expert how much money is left from the coffee experiment. The fomo was real as he said that the initial 128€ bitcoins obtained for the experiment are now worth 150+.

>first major show in germany talking about crypto
>actual people still dont know what it is and how it works
>google trends hits after the show

We are the early adopters and what we experienced was the bear trap.

I hate normies so fucking much

>> No.8190559

For majority it should be fairly evident that normies have no fucking idea what Bitcoin is let alone crypto.

Some might have heard of Bitcoin by now but what about Ethereum? No one.

In The grand scheme of things we are definitely early adopters.

I bet even if you explain to everyone in detail what blockchain as cryptocurrencies are, as well as their side effects like price fluctuations, hacking and market manipulations, most people won't need or like them at all

when customers pay with a credit card businesses have to pay 1%-3% in fees. It's why they sometimes offer a lower price if people pay in cash

Yeah, and businesses still accept fiat. And most of those few who accept crypto, use third-party processors that charge roughly the same fees.

Now consider how often you'll have to change the price in crypto when another whale decides to shake the market, or an exchange gets hacked, or another bunch of Wall Street futures expires, or the Mr. Gox trustee decides to dump 8000 btc.. Do I have to continue?
