Hi Biz,

My investment ideology is to invest in the most unethical companies possible, providing the dividend is good. Weapons, oil, banks and miners are some my biggest sectors, but I really want to get into tobacco.

My problem with this is vaping. I'm concerned that vaping is harming the tobacco industry and my potential dividends. Am I right to worry? I really want tobacco in my portfolio because I'm evil, but I won't do it unless I can make money.

Current major holdings include:
>Lockheed Martin and BAE Systems (weapons)
>Monsanto
>Halliburton
>BP and Exxon Mobil
>Anglo American (mostly for owning most of De Beers) and Rio Tinto

I balance this with index trackers but like owning controversial Blue Chips

Why is this your investing ideology? Are you predicting that the world will decline into a festering pit of unethical activity?

inb4 implying it already isn't

It's mostly for the dividends, but pissing off lefties by telling them about my portfolio is really fun and completely worth it.

It's mostly for dividends, I just happen to really enjoy pissing moralfags off by making money unethically.

I don't think you're pissing anyone off. You really think your peasant capital makes a perceptible difference?

Europeans are stills smoking like chimneys. I don't get your need to be edgy though

Of course it doesn't. If I don't own the shares somebody else will, so I might as well take advantage of the opportunity presented to me.

They don't need to know how much I hold. I didn't start off by wanting to be unethical, it just turns out the companies I chose pay big dividends.

...and have questionable ethical practices. I don't care though. I do part-time uni and my lefty peers are too easy to bother, so it evolved from that.

You shouldn't worry about what a tiny island full of Muslims is doing

What a shitty thread. OP, everybody knows you're roleplaying and have never invested in your life. I'd be shocked if you even knew what "dividend is good" means. GTFO.

Truth is I own BAE, Shell and a bunch of index funds. Looking at acquiring more blue chips and thought tobacco would be good. I like the idea of having an entirely unethical portfolio, though.

What a cool idea, OP. If only someone else had thought up the idea first. Maybe they'd call it "sin stocks" or "vice stocks". Maybe they'd even create mutual funds and ETFs that do the investing for you.

Oh wait. They did.

I'm struggling to find one I can put in my ISA (UK IRA?)
