eBay general:

What label printer is guud? Thinking of getting a Zebra 450. Print up to 15 labels a day, sometimes only a couple though...

I have a Zebra 450 and it's a pain in the ass to use. It's actually meant to work with UPS software, so it's not explicitly supported by eBay.

However, you can get it to work by setting your printing preferences in eBay to a similar 4x6 zebra printer. Still though you will run into issues with the browser wanting to dither the printed image. I work around this by saving the labels to PDF and printing them with Adobe Reader.

TL:DR, buy a different printer if you need one. One that's explicitly compatible with eBay.

>> No.766860

I am not familiar with the Zebra 450. Is it a more modern version of the LP2844?

Anyways, I have used both the Zebra LP2844 and the Stamps.com Pro Label Plus and both are decent.

The Stamps.com Pro Label Plus printer is literally plug-and-play. It requires zero configuration and sets up flawlessly on any machine. They don't fuck you with proprietary paper or any of that shit. It's an amazing value buy. My only complaint is that loading the paper is very ass backwards.

I actually like the Zebra LP2844 more than the Pro Label Plus; however, it's fucking IMPOSSIBLE to configure on any machine that isn't windows XP. Mother fucking UPS had to come out with their own drivers because Zebra was too fucking lazy to fix the bullshit. It's an amazing printer if you get it working, the paper loading is easy and intuitive, and it prints for years without any problems. Like I said though, it's a bitch to configure

TL;DR - go with the Stamps.com Pro Label Plus. They are both in the roughly same price range

>>768392
Figure 14% of total sale price lost to fees. Printing labels saves you assloads of time. I recall once, years ago, going to the post office during Christmas season and getting stuck being people who needed passports. I had a critical package to send out. I was in live for 2 hours. If you print the label out, you can drop it off at the post office (many have a drop off point so you don't have to wait in line) or if if it fits, you can throw it in one of the blue drop boxes. It also saves money. You can get pretty decent savings on shipping by printing online. It also automatically inputs your tracking number if you buy through ebay.

I started around 3 months ago with a total savings of 1.400€. I am a student and I didn't have a job, just some savings from messing around. I spent slightly less than a month doing thorough research on this biz, product research, what sells, what doesn't, for how much I can get it and what is my benefit margin at avg price, and made every single calculation and planned every bump on the way that I could think of before I even placed my first order.

Then I made a sample order of some of the products I had researched, investing no more than $400.

This last month I made over $10k in revenue, out of which approximately 50% are profit, and half of the month I was out of stock because my supplier messed up with an order.

Just stop looking for someone to hand you the secret to make money out of this. If you want to start profiting out of this, you'll have to educate yourself, do your homework and take some risks. Don't expect anyone to tell you "here sell this for X amount and don't worry it's definitely going to sell".

The best thing about this is that, once you've learned the basics, you can do it wherever you go, so you can "carry" your income with you wherever you go. Also, spotting good products, listing your items properly and dealing with suppliers only gets easier, so start working hard today and I promise you it will compensate.

Protip: there are many forums about this subject with way more helpful people in them.

Good luck, anon!

Brotip: Set up a UPS business account. Order half sheet sticky labels and bubble mailers. You can print on them with a regular inkjet printer and not have to worry about taping that shit on. The bubble mailers make great free padding, or you can ship in them. All of their free shipping supplies are meant for their express service, so if you ship UPS with them sometimes they make a stink about it. You can also order free boxes but they're all skinny and tall boxes, cereal box style, so I don't find them useful for my products.

Common-sense-tip: Go to USPS.com and order free priority mail shipping supplies. They give you free priority supplies. DO NOT ABUSE THEM, it is mail fraud. I recommend flat rate boxes, flat rate bubble mailers, and priority mail tyvek mailers. The bubble mailers are flexible unlike the legal mailers. The tyvek mailers go by priority weight but are basically indestructible.

If you want to start with a limited bankroll, then the thrift shop/estate sale/garage sale routine can work. It's a bit of a grind most of the time but every once in a while you'll come across a sale with a bunch of great stuff at great prices. Here are some general tips to get started:
-Start by just going to the local sales near you on Saturdays. Hit up Craigslist or Kijiji or whatever free online classified site people use in your area, and make an itinerary.
-The goal at this point is to get a feel of what the local sales are like, so don't skip over neighborhoods if they're poor or a little ghetto.
-Hit up thrift stores during the week. Find out when they put new items on the floor, and go as soon after that as possible. Figure out which stores have good prices and good selections.
-Specialize in one niche, particularly when you're just starting. Glassware, sports apparel, woolens, jewelry, porcelain, coins, textbooks, tools, postcards, spray paint, diapers, whatever.
- Get to know that market inside out. Research on collectors' forums, eBay completed listings, books, etc. Stay up on trends in that market. If fakes or counterfeits are an issue, learn how to identify them out in the field.
-Only buy things you know you can make a GOOD profit on. If something sells on eBay for $50, don't buy it for $30. Depending on what it is, even $10 might be too much.
-Slowly start branching out. If something catches your eye, but you don't know what it is or how much it sells for, take a picture or write down a description and research it later. Always be learning.
-Don't be afraid to gamble small.
-Don't trust sellers. They may swear to the baby Jesus that those tea spoons are sterling silver, but you saw that they're marked EPNS and saved yourself a bad purchase.
-Haggle everything. Ask for a discount on the total if you buy multiple items.

Find items with large enough margins.

The fees basically pay for the access to a very large market of buyers.

You need to get top of the listings by being an established seller - from there you can charge more and thus increase your margins.

I highly suggest offering 14 day no hassle returns and free shipping as those give you higher positions in listings.

For returns I'd suggest offering a restocking fee for returns however this may encourage people to open up cases saying the item doesn't work instead of doing a simple return which can ding your account.

For free shipping I'd suggest pricing in the shipping into your item.

There are some cases where not having free shipping is better. When I sell clothing and do auctions I want the starting price to appear as low as possible. Thus instead of doing 11.29 + free shipping I'll do 4.95 with 5-6 shipping.

No to almost all of the above.

I usually use just the 20 free listings/scheduled listings every month. Occasionally there's a 100 listings offer which I take.

I don't use second categories, supersize pictures, subtitles, premium themes, etc.

Most auctions I make international through the Global Shipping Program.

My typical listing is a 99p start, no reserve price, no Buy It Now, on a 7 or 10-day duration. Usually fairly low-value items like old video games, DVDs, used clothes, etc.

And yet, in a month where I make, say £30 in earnings, ebay fees are around £15. When you factor in postage, packing, and the time spent listing, packing, and walking to the post office, it would be only slightly less profitable to throw the cunting things out of my window. Is this typical?

If you purchase the postage labels through eBay, the item gets marked as dispatched as soon as you do it. If you mark your items as dispatched, you should have your funds available in about 7 days from when the item is supposed to get to the buyer. If you use a tracked service and add a tracking number to the order, it'll be 3 days. If you do none of these, it'll be 21 days.

I know it's a pain in the ass in the beginning, but it's fair. What if a scumbag started selling on eBay and he ripped off everyone with his fake shit or sent you a fucking whistle when you've bought a lamp? PayPal has to make sure that you're not a fucking retard by taking some extra security measures in the beginning. If you scam someone, PayPal will freely send them back their money instead of letting you run away with it. It seems fair to me. A pain, but fair.

When you start having constant sales, and by a rule I have not yet figured out (but I guess feedback counts), you'll start getting your money available immediately even if you haven't been selling for 90 days yet.

Sorry to say this, but that's your problem. You should account for all those expenses in your calculations, and if you don't you're just gonna get screwed, and you deserve it. Does anyone know of an alternative to Stamps.com? I really like the convenience of it, but I'm not a huge fan of the $15.99/month charge. I would use the built in shipping tool Ebay has, as I only am shipping 5-6 items a week currently, but my laptop (which is connected to my wifi connected printer) shuts down and gives me a blue screen if I attempt to go on Ebay. I've looked into the problem and I can't figure it out. Once I get sales up a bit I'll go back to Stamps.com probably but for now it's eating a little bit too much of my profits.

I'm still a noob too, so feel free to ignore my advice.
It's my first time using ebay ever, I started 2 months ago, so I've been selling shit i had laying around at home. Old video games, books, computer parts, then i started selling other random (cheap) crap, like pens, shuttlecocks, etc. I found out this way that selling used video games is totally not worth it, unless you operate one of those scam websites where you buy used video games from people for 1 dollar, and then resell them for 30 (gamestop does this too).
If i had a big budget, i would just buy a bunch of test products and see how well they sell. but sadly i'm too poor (well im not poor at all, but my girlfriend takes most my money).

start with products that you are interested in yourself. recently i bought a used phone, used it for a while, then re-sold it for a total profit of 10 bucks. it's not much, but then again i got to test out a neat phone and even got money from it. so if you pick something you like, you can get some fun out of it even if it doesnt sell well

New listing fees are a "slight of hand" violation of Consumer Protection Laws to milk additional "fees" cloaked as Consumer Benefits.

Ebay is scamming you (i.e., "[We] 'may' charge you a fee" click here,,, here... here... read fine print... Click again.. Read some more... Re-read USER-AGREEMENT details)" *and consumers may find out that E-Bay is nickel and dime-ing you **IF you navigate ALL of the fine print**

When buying items from Ebay, MANY CUSTOMERS filter the results. I happen to filter auctions to "Ending Soonest" to find deals that may have been overlooked. Using that same logic, when listing an item to sell... ONE WOULD ASSUME, that the higher frequency of "Ending Soon" (i.e., <5 day auctions) may be tactically beneficial to some sellers.

The ambiguous "new seller listing fees" are outrageously unfair to those who provide the very funding that makes the INC. viable from hard working Americans (and in EBay's & PayPal's case... Internationals).

EBay Customer Support Supervisor for EBay) stated "the new fees are to benefit the [buyers/sellers] using Ebay so they can better locate items they intend to buy".

(Q): When were these changes announced?
(A): An email was sent 90[ish] days ago.

Abbvn: Any posting listed for a short duration (i.e., less than 5 days) is subject to a $1.00 USD surcharge regardless of a sale.
Auto-Relist up to 2 times? ... Sure.. WHY NOT?
If your $3 USD item doesn't sell you now owe E-Bay $3 USD!
Ex:
Past 31 Days Sales: ~$265.00 USD
MAY 2015 EBay Invoice = >$65.00 + % of sales for EBay & PayPal

% Fee for Services: >25%

Hmm,
Excessive, Ambiguous, and unfair seller listing fees... "You may be subject to.. Click-Navigate--get law degree-- Navigate more... Click on one of numerous links" etc.

Forced Binding Arbitration: EBay is evading responsibilities to consumer protection (unilaterally) with these new "regulations".

Yeah, ebay's traffic growth has actually been negative. If you think you will list 100 items and have any sort of reliable income that's not going to happen. ThomasNet is basically a website that lets you look up manufactures. For instance, I needed to find a place to sell me bulk polypropylene sheeting for a project I was doing. I looked it up, found a plastic manufacturer that was within 50 miles of me, and talked to them about getting half a ton of plastic.

The issue with it is, if you're looking to sell an item and want to invest $50-500, there is a good chance they will ignore you, say no, or refer you to a reseller. The other issue is that unlike China, they won't make you a knockoff item because they can and will be sued if they do.

So basically the only market really available to you there is custom made products (which they will probably demand a decent sized order) or an untapped market (good luck finding one).

A lot of the people on alibaba are Chinese resellers. I've contacted a handful of companies about a product before and gotten back price quotes across the board. The cheapest one is usually the manufacturer. You can also do a little research on the companies to see which are legit. Google them (note that Chinese websites for legit places often look like 1996) and use google earth to look at their address. Is it a small office building in a residential area? Is it a 14 acre factory?

I used to because I have a bad procrastination habit. I just developed a system. Let's take a Saturday, which is a combination of yard sale/estate/flea market/thrift store.

>whenever an item is purchased, log the purchase (item, price) in the vehicle on pen and paper
>When I get home, price/item/description are entered into an excel spreadsheet
>I unload everything and take it upstairs to my attic/workshop.
>Everything is sorted through and if I say, bought a box lot, trash/scrap/localsale/onlinesale is sorted into those categories
>everything going for online sale is photographed and tested immediately
>items are then put onto organized shelves in their proper spots
>at night time, I put everything from the day that's ready to go on eBay

I just power through it, get everything listed and call it a day. I have eBay listing templates saved in word and I use the principle behind form letters to fill out unique descriptions for each item. Pretty much read this:

http://www.internet4classrooms.com/msword_formletter_07.htm

But instead of mailing lists, we are doing items.

This way, when I get to the actual listing, it's just uploading pictures and copy and pasting text. I have some general templates that cover items sold as-is, items with return policies, etc.

Rambling aside, the best advice I can give you is just to plan everything out, make a checklist, and stick to it. Build good habits. Don't be lazy. Understand that the sooner you get it up, the sooner you get it out.

The only exception to this rule is this time of year, where my volume is through the roof, so anything I acquire from Friday-Sunday I may not list until Sunday evening. And I attend public auctions throughout the year on Friday evening, and usually those items aren't listed until the next day. Just depends on my schedule. You just have to find what works for you and stick to it.

>> No.773460

>>773449
Thanks. I think trying to get more stuff listed on the same day would help me out. Normally I'm out buying on Saturdays from 6 AM to about 5 PM, so when I get home I may do some preliminary research on a few of the more interesting or expensive items, and then crack open a beer and tell myself I'll get around to listing on Sunday. Then on Sunday I only get around to listing the high-ticket stuff that I've already researched, and now I have a fairly big backlog of mid-tier items sitting around in my storage room.

Do you feel that using the Excel spreadsheet to track your purchases and sales has helped? That's one thing I've never tried doing. And how do you treat box lots in your spreadsheet? Do you list the whole lot as one item or do you break it down into separate items with each item's price as a fraction of the lot cost?

>> No.773479

>>773460

Definitely. It's also useful because I can see ROI's on everything and know what I should buy in the future and what I should avoid in the future.

With box lots, it depends. Anything in the lot that isn't being sold is discarded and I forget it even exists. Everything else is listed under the box lot but I don't split the prices. Basically, as items from the lot sells, then I'll apply the prices to what sold first. Then when I've broken even/already in the profit, I know I can take a little less for the remaining items just to get them out the door. As an example:

box lot contains: item a, item b, item c, and item d. box lot cost me a total of $5

all four items are listed on eBay separately and item b sells first for $8. After fees and shipping, I have $5 left. The entire $5 cost of the box lot is applied to this one item, and now I have three items (a, c, and d) which I in effect paid nothing for. So while my ROI on item B was pretty much 0, my ROI on the other items will be 100%

I find this easier than trying to divide and assign values that way. That might work for a few items, but some of the box lots I acquire potentially have a dozen or more listings in them, so I don't waste time trying to divide values. Whatever sells first gets money applied to it, and then when I break even, everything else is pure profit.

Another advantage of the spreadsheet is I can see how long I've had certain items, so I know to either mark them down, put them in a box lot and sell with other items, or remove online entirely and either sell them at the local auction (where all of my junk goes), scrap it at the scrap yard, donate it to the thrift store for a tax refund, or take it to the flea market the few times a year I go and setup.

Concise and honest.

Concise because the longer you waffle and bullshit about the item, the more likely you are to slip in inaccuracies, assumptions, and other possibly harmful details. Your description isn't an advertisement. The buyer already wants the item, you don't need to convince the bastard.

Also, be honest because returns and complaints will hurt you financially, whether that be in terms of refunds, negative feedback, etc. Take good quality photo(s), that will negate most of the need to describe every last feature. Usually people will only need to know:

What is it? What does it do? Is there a picture? Will I receive the exact thing pictured, or something different/only some of it? What is the exact cost?

Is it new? Boxed or unboxed? Shrinkwrapped/mint?

Is it used? Is it functional? Dirty or worn? Any missing components? Any original packaging or documentation?

Keep it simple.

I've had to refund a couple of times because the item was lost in the post (always send valuables registered, make the buyer pay postage) and once because the buyer was some middle-aged Indian bitch who thought it was acceptable to haggle about the price after paying and receiving the item. I accepted a return that time just because I was sick of replying to her 5+ emails a day and didn't want a negative feedback. I hope the bitch got cancer, though. Apple Mac Pro 2009 backplane board. I bought the computer it resided in for $200 and found I could make more money parting it out than trying to sell it as a complete machine. I've already made my money back 2 times over, but this part just isn't selling for some reason. I've undercut everybody selling the same board too.

It will only work with apple's hardware, keep in mind.

I'm hoping whatever apple comes out with tomorrow (WWDC) holds a candle to snow leopard.

The track pads are stupid easy to replace if you know what you're doing. They're pretty cheap to replace too (ifixit has them for $70 used A grade, you can probably find them much cheaper). I think fixing that would make it that much more valuable. I see them go on Craigslist and eBay from anywhere between $350 to $1000 depending on the specs. Cosmetic imperfections and broken hardware would bring that estimate down. Look for similarly spec'ed MBP's on eBay and figure out if fixing the computer is worth the extra cost.

or provide me with specs and I'll give you my best guess

I wouldn't think so, but I deal mostly in working computers that I repair and sell as-is in perfect working condition or parted out. You might be better off parting it out. Or sell with a used magic trackpad.

The person you sell it to is either going to fix it themselves and resell it for a higher price or buy it from you and buy an external peripheral (mouse or otherwise) somewhere else. either way, You're probably not going to get a lot out of the laptop. or maybe you will if you bought it super cheap.

Clothes are also high risk because "the color is different than the picture", "The item is too small, I wear a size 16 and this is like a size 4", "This item isn't genuine hollister, I can tell from the stitching".

The closest I get to reselling chink shit is buying certain items from Northern Tool / Harbor Freight, "rebranding them" for specialized purposes, and selling them like that.

For example, some $4.99 item becomes a SPECIALIZED TOOL FOR DOING X and sold for $19.99, because people are too stupid to realize that it's a regular item.

This is really easy with prepper type shit. That's been my big moneymaker past few years, both retail and online. I used to do video games but that shit doesn't really sell anymore, not like it used to. Plus it's harder to find organically.

I also purchase items at auction and get a nice profit margin from them. I bought a lot of an item that I make 4000% profit off each item. It would be an awesome item, but I doubt I will ever find them for auction again.

With the items I purchase from China, I make less profit, but I can sell 400k of them. So there is stability.

I would really like to get into selling liquidation items. The downside is that you need to buy by the truckload to make it worth your time/money. So I need a dedicated warehouse with a loading dock. Right now I just use a storage unit because it works for the items I use.

>Using Faggotbay unironically

You would have to be ten types of a retard to use this cancer of a site.

They eat ~15% of every dollar you sell

They don't even let you list short auctions without paying

The seller has no fucking rights and buyer fraud happens on a daily basis (literally any claim made by a buyer about a sale is accepted by ebay)

They take commission from shipping costs even if you don't use their labels

They hold transactions for items sold until the buyer is 'satisfied' with a purchase so the seller is fucked if the buyer decides that they want to start playing games.

There is no way to prove theft when sellers return

There is no way to prove your item is in a working condition that you listed it as when you shipped it (a buyer can claim what they want and ebay takes their side automatically)

The return process automatically suggests a full refund and for the seller to pay for return shipping. Choosing any other option is a hassle and about 95% of the time is a futile effort

Beware of Faggotbay and their cancer policies unless you are selling something that no one can ever complain falsely about

These are all very good and true points.

You are also able to get more discounts as a good seller. Being higher ranked also puts your listing in better positions which should let you charge more. Charge higher but not too high to retain the extra sales that come from better ranking.

Ebay provides a great side income for me that I can develop into full time income (along with Amazon).

It's not consistent income like a job but it provides great earnings per hour for minimal work.

If it takes me 20 minutes to find (as in buy from a store or where ever), list, package, and ship and I make $10 profit off of that shirt then that's like making $30 a hour.

Sell multiple items or buy larger items in shorter time periods and you find that you're technically making more per hour. Reinvest the earnings to expand or just passively invest index funds/stocks/etc.

>> No.786185

>>785664

There are some preventive measures you can take to prevent buyers from fucking you over. You can reach a human on Ebay's support line although it does take a little bit of work. If your items have high enough margins then this extra time is worth it.

I would NOT mess with phones, TV's, mainstream headphones (think beats by dre). If you're not an established store you'll get way too many retarded questions, complaints, scammers, etc.

They're charging for shorter auctions because they usually don't sell or sell for much less. They're trying to encourage people to list for longer because it usually ends up selling for more thus giving them a bigger cut of the profits plus it should make you more happy theoretically.

The commissions from shipping costs was to stop sellers from abusing the whole "sell it for 99 cents + 20 in shipping". This usually lost them sales/pissed off customers that were stupid and didn't check the shipping costs. It was the easiest solution to implement.

They've been releasing my funds asap because I'm established. Usually its one week for newer people if they ship right away.

There really isn't way to prove theft. I would recommend taking pictures of UPC codes and serial numbers as a best measure. You can only really hope to report it so that if they consistently do it then Ebay should ban them. Ebay could possibly return the money to you (I've heard cases of it recently but these are just anecdotes).

It's a bitch to handle proving your item works. I recommend putting notes/business cards that say you want to help and to message you immediately for support with the item. You should also accept 14 day returns with no restocking fees. I've been burnt too many times when people didn't want to pay the damn fee because they didn't want the item and thus I got burned with a INAD case. If the item is genuinely not working make the return process as easy possible so that they do not open those damn cases.

I disagree. eBay are a bunch of snakes but I believe there reason they charge for 3 day and 1 day auctions is because it was allowing medium budget sellers to move too much stuff. When I list auction items they don't usually sell until until the last day and don't reach peak price until the last five minutes. That's because people still search by "auction ending soonest". So why does it matter if the auction ends in a day? You can just relist it the next day.

eBay doesn't care about chump change but what they do care about is people turning a $50 profit on a $5 handbag because it means that they don't have to play the buy from china sell ching chong merchandise for pennies game that these disgusting illiterate tripfags seem to love.

As an example: last year bought a duffel bag at a public auction. Aviators bag. Had a pair of "headphones" in it as the auctioneer described. Vintage pair of David Clark's that sold for $200. Also had two silver coins stuffed in the bottom of the bag, got $30 apiece for them. Kept the bag which is worth around $25-30. I also sell items that are new manufactured goods which do not have UPC/GTINs, can I put "Does not apply" for these items, or does that go against the new "product itentifiers" policy on new items?

So I have a pretty nearly unlimited supply of paint I can get brand new for essentially nothing. I won't go into how. Gallons of paint weigh roughly 11 lbs and fit in a 10x10x10 box.

I'm willing to sell this paint for ridiculously under msrp because of how cheap i can get it. although shipping is expensive. ebay calculates one gallon shipped california to colorado costing $15 UPS ground.

would I have more success on ebay including the price of shipping in the cost of the item, and offering "free shipping", or attracting customers with a crazy low price on the paint and hitting them with the high shipping cost?

>> No.792693

>>792689

If this is new I would say offer the good price below MSRP. My rule of thump is to round down to the next 9. So if I could sell them for 27 I'd go for 19.95 instead and just sit on the buy it now. Once you get some sales you'll lock in the top spot in which case you can gradually increase your price. First to 21.29, then to like 24.95 and so on.

Auction imo is only for used goods that you need to sell for sure. You'll most likely get less with the fact of knowing it will sell.

As we can see since you can source this paint for cheap and undercut the competition then you should just list it buy it now aiming to get top of the rankings with early sales + free shipping + 1 day handling time (this is important - it does affect your ranking!)

>> No.792701

>>792693
Just so I'm clear. The 19.95 you're suggesting is the buy it now price, with an offer of free shipping? what other fees should I expect? if I get the gallon for a dollar that would put me at $4 profit, not counting the cost of shipping materials and other sale-related fees.

also one-day handling won't be a problem.

>> No.792707

>>785501
>none of the beaners in america speak spanish

>> No.792724

>>792701

I was just picking random numbers out of my ass. If you're comfortable with telling me the MSRP and what the going rate is on Ebay then I would just suggest taking the going rate and rounding it down to the nearest 9. If it's at like 60 for example, don't do 59.95 but rather 49.95.

Fees is usually about 13% (Ebay fee + Paypal fee) + whatever your shipping cost is. I suppose you can also calculate the cost of people trying to return it used/claiming its defective as a cost/fee too. You could guess and say it's 2% of your margin.

>> No.792726

>>792701

Also you should gradually raise your price once you get top 3 ranking (shoot for first obviously). Gradually raising your price shouldn't hurt your ranking/sales and now you can sell your product for more to a larger amount of visitors.

Make your listing as concise and professional as possible. The description should state simply the name of the product and any manufacturer info. It should also list the tl;dr version of your selling policies.

Ex:

- Packages are shipped out within 1 business day!
- Free shipping on ALL orders!
- 24/7 support
- 14 day no hassle returns!

I would highly suggest you choose to accept returns (rank boost) and that you do not charge them any restocking fees. The only time I charge restocking fees is for clothes since I know my items are defective and I have pictures of the size to prove it.

If you make your returns easy as possible you prevent buyers from opening bullshit INAD cases which can hurt and even ban your selling account.

>> No.792730

>>792701

There's also the option to allow buyers to submit best offers. I'm indifferent on this right now.

In my opinion it just encourages buyers to try to offer you less than if than what they were originally going to purchase it for. I don't think I've really gained too many sales by selling my product for lower to buyers that didn't want to pay my original price. If there was a more effective way of targeting customers that would purchase your product if it was cheaper without affecting people that would buy it for more then I'd be raking in some serious dosh right now for my own listings.

Looks like you'll hit a nice goldmine then. Check out Amazon and Google some other stores like Lowes or Homedepot to get a feel of what the going price is.

I also think there's an option on Ebay to list the MSRP and then list your price to show there's a discount. This always helps in selling too. Basically show the customers you can give it to them fast and for a good price ;)

Some clients will notice though. Best to repay them ASAP and hope there is no fallout.

Three things though. These Chinese manufacturers do not care about repeat business usually. They just want you to pay up and sell just any shit to you.

In light of that, you might just, if you have enough money to spend, fly down to Shenzhen or Guangzhou and fill a partial container with non-branded stuff that you know you can sell.

Also, unless you got patience and extreme business savvy, dealing in pirated goods is not a road to riches. It is just another income.

Tell them that unfortunately you can not do that as the item had been shipped within your estimated handling time and that it is almost delivered.

You should have a return policy available for these reasons alone. Let them return it hassle free. Hell take the hit on shipping.

The thing is, these guys can come up with bullshit reasons and open up Ebay cases so that they can try to return the item if you don't accept returns or get out of paying return shipping (yes some people will try to fuck you over $2-$5 in shipping - sucks if it's a larger item and you have to pay more though). You need to do everything you can to keep those defects low. Yes you'll take a hit on your margins but you should only be moving items that can net you +15% profit after fees/shipping and accounting for returns (2ish% estimate in my books).

Of course, if you have a fully written out listing. Take pictures of the UPC codes, item being shown as new/used or whatever and have the buyer admit in the message they just simply don't want it then you should be able to remove any defect if they open up a case. However, you'll need to call Ebay and spend however much time it takes to reach a US representative that can help you. Personally, my time is more valuable so I just offer a hassle free policy.
