- eat with my parents as often as I can to make them pay for food
- wipe ass with my fingers because water is cheaper than toilet paper
- dumpster dive
- downclock my computer to save electricity
- invest 10% of my income in self-development tapes, casettes and books

There are 2 ways to look at money: 1. Money is for spending on every shiny new thing 2. Money is for not having to worry about money.

I usually drag myself on the carpet after I take a shit so I can save toilet paper...also eating your pet might just save you some money. Also, in order to avoid buying things I don't really need, I gave my money to a random person that promised me he will keept them safe for me, it really helpsme, I hope that it will help you too.

I live in a financially shit area.

Minimum wage is $7.25, but you're lucky to hit more than 20 hours on minimum wage.

Average wage for households is $10.00 an hour, but it makes people fall below poverty line regardless. Making it extremely difficult for people here to have money unless they're business or corporate owners.

Oh, and people with college degrees earn about $14 an hour in their late 20's, early 30's... and barely get raises.

make sure to keep your debt in control
you generally want 33% of what you make towards your rent
you should look at your cash flow like a business does, setting out a certain amount for various things

I save $1500 a month. I don't buy stupid shit every week and I keep expensive passions like drinking on the minimal side.

Make your own food and stop eating out.

When I get silver coins from change (<$1) I put it in a jar that counts it. I normally get to about $100 then I cash it in at the bank. It might not be that much but its two tanks for fuel for my car.

Don't matter if you have a lot of $ or not, saving is always a possibility. You just have to really want it. Use excel, cashcontrolapp, mint or whatever, it don't matter, just do it.

Set up an auto-withdrawal every week, for something you can afford. $5 a week to start maybe, then see if you can afford $10 ... keep going up. I do $100 a week into my IRA, almost maxing out every year.

The best way to save money is by earning more money , have your mind set to start thinking differently. It's not about if I save a bit here and there , it more about if I can make a bit more here and there , once that kicks in , you will start to see saving building up. Also if you don't drink or smoke it saved a bunch .

You shoul try the money management app.
It is kind of hard to get used to use it but after a while it gets really easy and you keep track of every expense that you make.
