The younger you are when you realize and accept that basically everything in life is connections and bullshit, the richer and more successful you will be. A few simple rules to life:

If you really wanna make a lot of money, but it's not in a field that you're passionate about, then too fucking bad. Learn a valuable skill, and go into that field. Don't sit around until your 31 still trying to be a professional musician or some bs.

Also, live in a cheap apartment so you never have to freak out about suddenly losing your job one day.

Finally, if your parents aren't rich then they're probably idiots or were too afraid to take big risks. Don't hate them for this. If you're intelligent enough to realize that they're mostly full of shit and give bad advice, then start learning from other people before it's too late.
