>All of this means that banks aren't lending to each other anymore as banks rely more and more on the easy money of the central banks. Libor rates are moving up, pointing to increasing credit risk (see chart below from FRED). These rates will continue to move up and stay above the Fed funds rate, because the latter is risk free. If the Federal Reserve doesn't stop increasing rates, it will be responsible for an equity market correction and possibly also a real estate market correction.

Real money is Gold and Silver. Paper money only started having value because it used to be backed by gold several decades ago. Now it's backed by nothing except mass delusion and geopolitics.

Since the 2008 economic collapse, central banks around the world have overdosed on financial stimulus and printing money out of thin air. They have artificially suppressed the prices of gold and silver to keep the dollar delusion going.

On April 19th 2016, China locked in the dollar's death by launching their own gold price fix. For the first time in modern history there are now two prices of gold, one in the Chinese yuan and the other in the dying dollar.

If the West were to raise the price of gold, it would kill the dollar completely as it would prematurely instigate the inevitable mother of all safe haven panics.

If the East were to raise the price of gold, it would drain the West's gold reserves due to arbitrage. This would expose the West's fake gold market and kill the dollar. Doing this prematurely means the East could no longer buy gold for themselves at heavily undervalued prices for their post-collapse monetary dominance.

The eventual endgame is that the price of gold skyrockets and the dollar permanently collapses along with the global banking system and modern society as we know it. Black Friday will be everyday as the masses murder each other for a peach pit. This is sure to happen anytime between now and the end of 2018.

Don't believe it? We'll find out soon.

I didn't say fiat currencies were worth zero, I said that the military backing the person I was responding to that they claimed was the source of the value, in fact was not.
What *actually* backs fiat currencies is the economy of the issuing central bank and its attached nation, which is why Zimbabwe didn't suffer hundred trillion dollar notes because it lost a war, but because its economy was run by Robert Mugabe. The Zimbabwean military didn't even really enter into it, except to the extent that they fucked the economy by expropriating economically productive farms and putting them in the hands of people who can't tell shit from clay. the ZWD sure as fuck didn't benefit by their backing.
And no matter how many relatively unimportant small wars burgers or vodka junkies win or lose in various small skirmishes in Syria, the value of the ruble or the dollar will mostly be evaluated based on the competitive worth of the economies of those two nations rather than the performance of their bloodsport teams in the fantasy war league in sand nigger central.
Until crypto gains wide understanding and acceptance and throws the entire fiat paradigm on its head and everything goes the fuck out of the window, of course. Remains to be seen how far away that is.

Wat. Everyone thinks the government is fucked mate. The problem is we're politically apathetic as a nation, the whole "she'll be right mate fuckin get some piss up ya" doesn't just permeate through the general vibe, the major voter prols are clueless because they actually don't look at it. They watch the news and read the paper and think "aw, shit, that's a bit fucked" and think nothing more of it.

One of the scandinavian countries kicked their head cunt out for having money stashed in tax havens, that wasn't a bit of trouble for us to swallow, in fact most wouldn't know anyway and couldn't give a fuck about it if you told them about it. Shits fucked mate.

Right, but they keep accepting paying taxes out the ass and accepting pushing nanny state policies and being pro socialist, it's like my wife's a fucking cunt but I'm totally going to give her all my money and do whatever she says. Just because you go down to the pub to piss and moan about it with your mates doesn't mean you aren't controlled to the teeth by it. I used to be Australian, hated it so fucking much I just had to get out, haven't been back in years, and in those years travelling around the world and seeing how other nations treat their political situation has made me realise just how much Australians tolerate from their shit tier government, with the only backlash being "well that's a bit fucked, but sure here's 75% of my income in direct and indirect taxes in total for your bullshit minister".
And if anyone dares suggest that maybe they should take a less generous view of expansive public spending and state intererence, they're treated as if they just suggested all babies ought to be subject to compulsory rape. The only libertarian senator in modern history in Australian government got in only because his party name confused the shithead voters into thinking they were voting for the liberal party. Australians *cannot* comprehend the idea of actually limiting and reducing their government, piss and moan as they may about whatever aspect of it is assfucking them at any given point in time.

nah sorry mate I don't know anything about economics im a pajeet sitting in an office earning 1cents per comment to shill hillary clintons 2016 presidential run.
>any idea on timescale?
I have been predicting this for a long time, and my predictions have been somewhat premature, im supprised the system is still standing desu. As for your question I would say conservativly 6-18months tops, but it could be sooner - this is all really guess work and anyone who tells you with any certainty they know when its going to happen is making it up.
>can you point out anything we can do to secure ourselves
I have put my money in Gold, I see the precious metals as the only asset class not in a bubble right now but any hard assets (houses, land etc) is better than paper (stocks, bonds, etc) right now, I just believe housing to be over valued at the moment. I would prefer to buy gold now and housing later so I can get money houses for my money.

Keep it physically hidden in your possession, along with some fiat reserves.
Reason being any laughable 'Gold account' and any ETF would immediately vanish, once the banks/exchanges run out of liquidity.

Take what im about to say with a grain of salt because we are now entering the relm of conspiracy. The rate at which gold changes hands on the commodity exchange you mean every ounce of gold ever mined changes hands something like every week and a half, gold is a long term investment so this has to be false. Gold experts estimate that etfs over state the ammount of gold they have by between 4-400 times, meaning an ounce of gold held on paper has between 4 and 400 owners who all think it is theirs. There are no hard facts to back this up but I think if you research into it you will be very interest in to what you find.

End of the day, possession is 3/5th of the law, if you don't hold it you don't own it and these etfs have clauses where they can close your position and pay you out in worthless fiat.

Another advantage that Gold has over the USD is that it can be sold to a wider range of countries and converted to a greater range of currencies than the Dollar.
Useful when you are not planning to go down with the ship

We are just as fucked once lenders start reviewing mortgages. Some people probably already don’t even technically debt service their HELOCS and the like because of increasing rates.

And once house prices start to bleed heavy panic will ensue as LTV ratios get ass fucked.

What gold you buy depends on where you live, Im in the UK so I only buy Gold 1ounce brittanias as they are capital gains tax free. Don't buy any numismatic gold (old rare coins etc) just buy what ever you can find that is closest to the spot price (you always have to pay a bit over spot price but lower is best) this will likely take the form of bars.

stupid fun fact that you might know, the word 'dollar' is a measurement

Coinage Act of 1792 authorizes "Eagles — each to be of the value of ten dollars or units [i.e., of ten silver dollars], and to contain two hundred and forty-seven grains, and four eighths of a grain of pure … gold." Since the dollar contained 371.25 grains of silver, this brought into legal equivalence 3712.5 grains of silver and 247.5 grains of gold. The ratio was 1:15.
