Entirely depends on adoption rate of OMG, but the price of the token should reflect the staking reward. If the token is $1000 but staking only gives you $1/year, then that's 0.1% returns and gives you no incentive to actually hold, meaning people would sell and drive the price down. So as far as I see it, they should be a good enough percentage to incentivize holding, maybe 5%.

>> No.7543781

>>7543585
> but the price of the token should reflect the staking reward
you're retarded and the fee rate doesn't matter it's the amount of transactions per day that matters and that will be sky high off the bat let alone after some time. plus you reddit fags all tie the value of omg to the staking rates and completely disregard the growing crypto market, hype, fomo, news, low circulation all driving the price up plus most normies won't even know about staking or be in a coin to just stake plz educate yourself or kys

HOLY FUCK. Brian Armstrong's mission for a mobile payment gateway in 2017 to be built on the ETH network effectively became OMG.

HOLY SHIT It used to be called Token and disappeared right around the time OMG started being developed

So guys, how much OMG would I need to not need to pool in order to stake?

How do you pool anyway? I'm very new to staking coins in general so I don't have the best grasp of how running a node even works. I'm guessing you will only be able to do it with OMG's own wallet right? Is it a feature built into the wallet or something you have to set up yourself?
Like I said I don't fully understand how this works.

it'll be retard proof don't worry you just need a pc, laptop, possibly a raspberry pi or vps to run the staking client

Because if that is actually true and it basically becomes the backbone of the entire world economy, supporting almost every financial transaction. IF that actually happens OMG will become absolutely huge, as in, if that actually happens OMG could become bigger than Bitcoin in the future.

OMG should stay mostly steady until they introduce their steaking system so just having OMG coins generates money. That will cause the price of OMG to increase, I would say expect maybe $100 EoY with a continued exponential rise throughout 2019.

It's a long term hold coin, not a short term trading coin.

>> No.7548296

I'm a firm firm believer in OmiseGO but the initial rewards might be tiny to begin with. Plasma won't be introduced right away either. I think there could be a steep price drop at some point after staking rewards are announced. Pay attention to early adoption not early rewards.

I was being conservative. It's no good to sell people pie in the sky dreams that might not happen. 100 EoY is pretty solid chance of happening, 500 EoY might or might not happen depending on adoption and such.

Why does it need to be on its own chain to function as intended? If omg acts as a purely staking token for people that are plasma validators, it could do that just as easily as an erc20, could it not?
