yeah i probably wouldve cashed out and travelled the world for a while, not kidding. how far would 100k USD get me?

>> No.7538245

Hodl only works for people who has no control over their emotions and panic sells at every dip. Its pretty much a nice way to tell retards to stop crashing their coin.

I don't get sad or anything.
Crashes and dips don't scare me.
It just feels like i will have to wait a long time for my coins to reach their december/january values again...

>> No.7538341

I fucking lost so much gains since December. every time it dipped, I not only held but I put more money in, so I lost even more in the next dip. Basically ended with no gains what so ever but at least i never lost money(yet).

Thank god I'm in the game since last June, or else I would be so much in loss for holding this through this crash.

I chose not to sell because I knew I couldn't time the rebuy and didn't want to risk missing the rebound

Also closing my position in crypto seems like a stupid idea, ath or otherwise

So instead I hold

Remember to at least take some profits next time, you don't need to sell everything.

>> No.7538702

I should have sold COLX and went all in on Turtle and then invest in an ethereum game.

Yeah but what do I do with the money?

>i sell
>every coin is at ATH
>can't buy something else

I don't want to waste it on something stupid.

>the giant red stain that pollutes my entire portfolio
>oh well, at least I've got staking
>200k in 25k splits, 4 weeks with their shitty wallet consuming system resources
>2 staking rewards of 473

i definitely feel you, OP. If I had sold everything at the top, I could have bought a house, stashed a years pay, and still bought back in now obtaining more crypto than I currently have. It pains me to think about it every day.

I fell for the siren's song of people like @parabolictrav and Richard Heart with their alluring tales of how we were imminently going to the moon. I thought that the pullback at the top was the same pattern we'd seen all throughout 2017 where the price would drop 30% and then catapult to new highs resuming the bull trend. I hedled in the belief that "this has to be the bottom" as the price continued ever downward. I bought every dip only to see it dip more.

I still feel confident in BTC long term. It got to $20k once, it can do it again. It's uncertain of when that'll be though. I'm starting to think the bears have a good case and that we're going to be wandering the desert for a long time, until something happens that stirs up a new hype cycle.

I regret not selling at the top, but then again it's easy to say that in retrospect. You never know with certainty where the price will go. Selling is taking a chance. Plus you have to pay taxes on gains when you sell. Better to just hodl on. We'll get there, it just might take a little while longer.

You either believe that your chosen coin is the future of currency or you are just gambling a bit with fiat.
If you are a true believer, it is OK to just accumulate and just sell your stack when you really sure that you will increase it even more in a little while, When you trading from that position, you estipulate how much you are willing to lose (example: I will buy it again if it reaches Y price, even if it is higher, and then leave it alone until another truly market crashing event happens) and how much you are willing to gain (I will buy at a 30% dip and just hold it for a month without further trades).
If you are just gambling, you do the same, selling after a 20% neat profit without ever looking back or accepting a 20% loss and moving elsewhere.
But in both positions you must have a goal and strive towards it, otherwise, you will just be a puppet of your emotions and market manipulators.
Personally, I sold every at $18K and bough again at $10K, and unless satoshi moves his shit, I will be holding until July.

What I'll do next time is cash out the intitial investment and some profit on top of that, then put any other positions that I want to get out of into the dominant coin (Bitcoin or whatever takes its spot if that happens). Since, as we've seen, when the biggest coin drops, all others fall harder (though this is not guaranteed in the future - have to be flexible if conditions change). It's a compromise to add to alt positions after a correction without exiting crypto or taking the risk on tether.
