What can and should be achieved depends entirely on where you live. In Western/Central Europe, it's very hard to increase your net worth due to a combination of low wages, high taxes and high cost of living in cities.

Without inheritance, I'd say €50k-100k can be achieved if you're frugal and work smart.

Almost all my friends in their 30s have less than €20k saved and rent a small apartment in the city. The ones with children live pay check to pay check. The ones with more money inherited.

I don't know anyone who has money in crypto or in stocks around here. Everyone keeps it in their bank account with <1% interest.

>I'm 25 and I have double that, no excuses
You just listed $500K in investments/savings, and that's not even counting for half the house being paid off. Let's say half the house was $150K. That's $650K.

You said you have double, so $1.3M. You're 25, most people don't start working until 23, so let's say you've had 3 years to hit that figure.

$1.3M / 3 = 433,333.33.

Given 35% combined federal + state taxes that's $666,666.66 per year that you have to save.

So realistically because of living expenses, you'll probably need to earn $700K+ per year.

How did I do it? Stay fiscally conservative. Resist the urge to constantly fill the psychological need for pointless consumer goods. Most importantly, if you want to get married, find a woman with a strong work ethic, above average intelligence, and supportive family. Encourage her to pursue her career goals. When it comes to investments, try and see ahead of the curve - put your money in emerging tech (alternative energy, green tech, crypto, blockchain, etc) but stay balanced with conservative investments in banking (Canadian banking highly regulated, risk averse) and established corps - see dividends.

Well, I basically see large groups of homeless every day(Denver), earn $12 an hour which can't be considered a living wage here as costs are comparable to Austin/Seattle, my only saving graces are that I was able to buy a decent used car for cheap, got a cheap local place to livr with flat utilities because I know the landlord through a friend, and I get dental/health through my work.

I turned 27 a few months ago. No debt, $2k in the bank, 10k in crypto(was 30k a few weeks ago JUST.jpg). I went to a food bank for the first time this week and got a shit load of groceries for free. Not sure if I can really live with accepting this kind of welfare on a regular basis, but it is an easy way to get free staples(canned goods, rice, beans, bread, pasta, etc.) - much of the food is really on its way out though, and I have am extremely small kitchen so cooking/storing food is an ordeal. I wouldn't care so much if I wasn't trying to gain weight.

Considering selling my car because I am only 1.8mi from work, would save me about 150-200 a month on gas and insurance, which would make buying food a bit easier.

I'm just glad I actually have a bit of a cushion in the bank and am not 30k+ in debt like so many people my age. Feels kind of ubermensch desu, even considering the fact that some people my age have salaried careers and are working on owning a home. My parents were never able to help ke financially and I am just happy to be independent.
