How bad does it look on a resume if you graduate in 5 years?

I switched majors halfway through my sophomore year and I've been taking summer classes. I've already had to add a semester but I might have to add another.

Does a shitton of extracurricular or work experience balance that out? Especially with a high GPA?

Would they not give a shit if I had good reason for graduating in five years or would they just not give a shit period?

they don't give a shit as long as you have a degree and you're not a faggot in the interview

Don't put the start period on your resume, smart one.

Nothing suspicious about that at all. It's the standard format.

Anyone with half a brain can figure out he's had hiccups in his education track just by comparing birth year to graduation date, e.g, someone born in 1990 should have graduated in 2012.
Whether the employers care about it is another matter and I'm not versed in HRM to answer OP's question.

Well actually I graduated high school a year early so it would look normal.

You look worse compared to the candidate who did it in 4 or 3 years, assuming accomplishments/GPA are similar.

yeah it's weird, I have not met a single person today who isn't dumb, not one I tell you. Very strange indeed.

Not necessarily. I only hire people that I could see myself having a beer with. If you graduate in 3 years you're probably some doofus that will annoy me.

of course the thing to keep in mind here is that you've never hired anyone ever

Top meme friend! but actually I'm in my last semester working on my master's degree in engineering physics (my thesis focuses on plasma physics and nanoelectronics, but I won't bore you with the details), and I graduated one year early from HS so I'm a year younger than most master's students I'm graduating with.

But thanks for you concern!

You dont put your birth year on a resume, idiot.

You don't out any potentially discriminatory information. That's resume 101.

Also I graduated a year and a half late because I got cancer and had to withdraw. So that's why employers aren't supposed to make these assumptions.

What looks better? Shit part time work + a lot of extracurriculars (officer positions in clubs, honor societies, etc) or getting an internship?
