>Casually mentioning to recruiters that you have interviews scheduled or job offers from other companies

Good idea? Or obvious and obnoxious attempt to make yourself seem more in demand?

>> No.732800

as someone who interviews candidates, it can be a double edged sword. If I really really liked you, it might make me more inclined to give you an offer.
If I was lukewarm about you, it might make me feel better that you will land on your feet elsewhere.
If I didn't like you at all, I would be glad that you are going to waste their time as well.

Don't tell the interviewer that you have had a lot of interviews. That tells them that a lot of other interviewers didn't like you and you have received no offers.

When people do this I legit "into the trash it goes."

We don't even keep their resume on file, they have left the pool of candidates.

I just tell them I've only applied to their job ad.

>> No.732852

I would only ask say something if you already had an offer that you were happy with and wanted to give them a courtesy to say I need to make a decision by a certain date. Otherwise, no because recruiters already know you are talking with other companies anyway so it makes you look stupid for bringing it up.

I tell them, "this is my top choice, but i am sending a few apps to other companies as well"

I also try to work in that I have 3 girl friends too, that way they know I'm a fucking stud.

Wait for the 2nd or third interview OP
If you only get one interview it's a bad idea

keked

>> No.733040

What about implying interest in rival companies by in some way asking the interviewer to explain their differences, workplace related or otherwise.

>> No.733135

I just don't mention it - never had an employer bring it up.

>> No.733165

Only mention it if you have a job offer and you want to give this recruiter a chance to beat it.

You'd be retarded to mention another interview.

>> No.734350

if someone gives you an offer and you have a better offer elsewhere, you tell them about that offer and ask them to make you a better one. if they dont, go take the other offer. if they do, go back to the first one and tell them about your new offer.
