Hey /biz/ first time posting on this board, I dont see a stupid questions/general thread so bear with me. Im a 3rd year in uni (USA), working part time. I only made about 4k last year and paid $328 in income taxes. Would there be any point in filing taxes? I dont really have the faintest clue when it comes to finances, but if I could get any of that back thatd be great.

Yes, so to IRS.gov and use one of the freefile systems. DO NOT claim yourself (someone else can claim you as a dependent) and get your $328 back. If you made more than 6k, you would start paying (very minimal) taxes. So you should get everything back.

And your parents are claiming you, right?

Right my parents are stilling claiming me. The free file systems you mentioned are third party companies right? Is there anything I should look for in one or are they basically the same for someone in my situation?

You'll get everything back, plus an earned income tax credit, retard. File your taxes
