We are near the bottom I think $7500 would be rock bottom. I see a recovery starting late FEB but this shake out was certainly needed. Still tons of alts way over valued "marketcap" wise which is basically worthless in crypto. Anyone can create a coin trade it with themselves create artificial volume and price and boom huge cap. All marketcap is in crypto is circulating supply x price. >>7200461

Roughly 7 months. Not chasing shitcoins or pump and dumps just swing trading quality coins and then selling off a certain percentage usually 30% of the holdings to invest in other undervalued gems. ADA is solid. Good team good fundamentals. However the market cap is huge and there are far better options out there if you are looking for higher ROI. If you only have a few thousand to invest always go all in on one solid coin rather than diversifying. In my opinion diversification is pointless under 5-10 grand.

Tron had a extremely active CEO who was hyping and pumping them up to be the next facebook like crazy. He was pushing his alibaba connection hard. I am a strong believer that T/A is pretty much worthless in crypto. It can work in the stock market because there are balance sheets and audits of the major listed companies. In crypto a marketcap and volume can be completely manipulated and manufactured rendering T/A worthless. Also we lack a huge amount of data and history on coins. I use market sentiment and events calendars to swing trade.>>7201444

There are some things lining up in my thought. Recently reported by Marilyn Lynch - that we have a pretty strong short signal in approach for the Dow Jones - makes me think that we are in some sort of transitioning phase. BTW. this signal was right in 11 out of 11 times before! Google it up if you want. With transitioning I mean that now that the world is standing near a cliff and the only way is forward, we will see massive - I mean MASSIVE - corrections EVERYWHERE!!! It seems like crypto is the first mover here and that this negativity will transfer to other values as next. But this inevitable correction -that jump off the cliff, will happen! But this thing so far discribed as "correction" will end in a disastrous crash! This crash is going to force banks, big players and every thing related to money and value to rethink their current state. The won't be able to lower interest rates that time to ease tension they won't be able to bring the to big to fail thing up again. It will be the endless stream of money, assets and what ever is related to value, that will look around for exits and which will finally pour into CRYPTO -into the next economical phase of human history. This will be the transition we will all see IF there won't be anything like a fucking WWIII this time.
Let me know what you think!

>30x gains since the start of 2017.

Bitcoin was $900, ETH was $8, XRP was $0.006. If you literally diversified the top three coins in Jan 2017, you would have averaged over 80x+ at this point.

I don't know why, as a stockbroker, you would be proud of having a smaller ROI than the market average. Biz is actually just full of late adopters and LARPers.

No point in trying to beat wall street. Just buy index funds honestly. The stock market is a solved game controlled by big banks and billion dollar institutional investors. Average joe would be wise to just accept his 7-11% annual gains in a mutual fund/index fund. Crypto was profitable because it is the wild west with huge volatility and lots of dumb and fresh money entering.

Are these coins viable for long-term holds?

I put 15k in ETH/BTC/LTC doubled my money. With the gainz I bought some other cryptos and cashed out BTC/ETH/LTC at the all-time highs (got my investment back).

Is HODL a good strategy for these alts or should I just cut my "losses" for a small profit?

ETH.. So many major companies are interested and invested in ETH it is where 95% of crypto innovation is taking place. That being said there are still better investment choices in terms of pure ROI. ETH will always have to deal with the fact all of these endless waves of shitty ICO's are raising ETH and then dumping it .
