/rgt/ Robinhood General name change because of
https://crypto.robinhood.com/

Popular brokers for stock trading:
Robinhood
>commission free and no minimum to open
http://www.robinhood.com

> How is it free?
Robinhood earns revenue by collecting interest on cash/securities and fees from their Robinhood Gold service

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

Interactive Brokers
>$1 commission per 100 shares. $10k minimum to open, $3k if 25 or under. Lowest margin interest.

TD Ameritade
>$6.95 commission per trade. No minimum to open. Fantastic data/charting through their free ThinkorSwim service

Can someone convince me why I shouldn't just be straight up in a portfolio of index funds / ETFs? Beating the market long term is basically impossible at this point for us normal people. Tons of guys in it with tons more money than me, manipulating things before I can even think about a stock let alone buy it. I'm all in on Schwab ETFs. No trade fees on my Schwab account, minuscule expense ratios, making bit better than market rate +2% dividends. I'll take it.

Also why crypto is more fun. Feels like I still have a chance at an edge there.

Any Britfags here?

British Car Auctions Marketplace (BCA) looks like solid buy for this year but it probably won't give returns like crypto trading does. They operate AutoTrader and WeBuyAnyCar.com as well as some actual car auctions around the UK. WeBuyAnyCar drew my attention because I've heard more and more people talking about using them and I'm even considering them myself since I can't seem to sell my car on Ebay due to scammers.

They've got strong buy ratings from two agencies as well.
http://www.hl.co.uk/shares/shares-search-results/b/bca-marketplace-plc-ordinary-1p

Their charts have a nice longterm uptrend as well. What you reckon?

Daily Canadian weed update:

Aphria has bought out Nuuvera for 800 something million. Aphria a little down, Nuuvera way up, standard pattern for takeover deals. Aphria should pump quite a bit later this week on the strength of this big acquisition. Right now is a good entry point for Aphria if you're interested in a large cap play.

Everything slightly red because US markets are being a bunch of mass selling babies.

I use robinhood for daytrading, playing around, holding stocks for 6 months or so. I also have some bitcoin I'm holding forever on a USB stick. I have ameritrade that I put profits from robinhood or portions of my paycheck into and buy stuff I don't want to look at everyday (like Netflix, facebook, Tesla whatever...stocks I want to hold for retirement). It's annoying to see your robinhood portfolio fluctuate by thousands of dollars once you build yours up. People forget for some reason you can have multiple ways to invest. I also go to jmbullion . com every Monday and see what's on sale for silver and gold (mostly silver because I'm basically spending leftover weekend money). They have free shipping and the best prices. After 3 years of buying from there a few bucks at a time I have about 30k in bars (don't waste money on coins).

If you have less than 50k start with robinhhod, I mean...it's free. Personally I wouldn't start long positions right now but I still put a few bucks into ameritrade every now and then.

first off, how long have you been testing with your basic TA? You realize we are in a bullrun right? You cant use the same strategey in a consolidating or bear market. You need to learn about commodities and the forex as well as options for market downturn. This also requires your full attention, so you shouldnt have a full time job if you want to be a trader. You also need funds to start

na, ill be taking the trip off once BGFV gets to mid teens or if im done holding it. I've been trading RSII for a very long time but it's not something you can buy and hold like BGFV. RSII is OTC so it will have some crazy swings and my goal isn't to lose people money, if they don't know how to trade, BGFV is at a good buy zone to have some growth and dividend pay out for the next few months.

You might post a chart with how low it is but that is the whole point in trading, buy low and sell high, and BGFV is extremely low. Bashing on it everyday while it trades sideways as fuck is lame imo

Since dell owns 80% of VMware already, don't you think its in their best interest to keep the company profitable? I don't think they would just fuck over one of their best moneymakers just to avoid IPO ing. It's a gamble ik, but I think dell's board is smart enough to avoid ruining the company.
