The thing is anyone can make a board and run it however they like, so there are plenty of dead boards, plenty of hotpocket boards (which tend to die because someone makes a better alternative and it gets all the traffic), and plenty of good boards with actual traffic. I don't lurk /biz/ much lately so I can't really tell you more about it.

But really the best part is that the global mods won't hotpocket you.

8ch lets anyone make a board of their desire and the most frequently used get placement accordingly on the top.

Two gg boards have been nuked by various Twitter attention whores already and in this latest iteration the same cult of personality forced, spammed, and botted the retarded long-named board rather than let an actual anon be in charge, hence why there are two now. Hopefully it will die soon. Doesn't matter though, you shouldn't really care about the top 25 boards anyways except for /bane/. They're based on "active posters" which means anyone can just use a bunch of proxies to make their board ascend.

Oh and don't go to /cow/ or /baphomet/ they are themselves massive lolcows and don't even realize it. Really the midsized boards you can only find through the random button, boards list, or being mentioned are often the best.

There's usually only one GG board on the top bar. There was some trouble with the moderators on the original, so the userbase dumped it and just recently decided on a new main board and moderation, this is why there are 3 GG boards on thd top bar, 2 at the top that were being fought over, and 1 abandoned one near the bottom that is falling off the top bar. Within a few days the top bar should return to normal and there should only be one.

You can opt to ignore the top bar (there's an option in the user settings that lets you hide it, or you could use CSS), there is a board list where you can view all the boards and check out the ones you like best.
