I'm waiting until I graduate to open a business. I want to open a bar that serves food. This summer I'm gonna get a job at one and learn as much as I can on someone's dime. Then after careful planning and market consideration I will open a small bar. Food and drink quality will be the main priority. However they must also fit the demographic I'm trying to reach. This will probably be blue collar because of where I live. Anyway I have been reading up on the science of bars and hope to implement some things in my bar. I think a lot of trouble bars have are due to poor management.

The soylent hype made me a tiny bit mad, because it wasn't even new. There were several brands of similar complete food drinks on the market, before that autist even started development for it. It also upsets me a little when I see student teams "inventing" "new" methods of cleaning water (it's the old methods every time, what they actually "invented" was new product design). The local university "invents" the water purifier every year. I think it's some engineering project module the students have to go through.

There is no month were there isn't another new old product being hyped as the next vision and opportunity.

But no matter... one can still cash in. My job is creating hype, so I shouldn't be mad about hype. I feel cheated, though.

>thinking software programmed by an Indian is ever worth even close to 1k$

No matter what you do: don't do business with the Chinese or Indians (Indians being the worse choice). Also avoid every freelancer from Africa, they never meet the quality standards of the modern world.

Exploit university students. They ask for little and can make apps just as well, if they can program.

Eastern European code monkeys are also cheaper and as good as the Western counterpart, but the gap is closing.

Japs also have better work ethics than the Chinese, but they aren't really cheap and I somehow feel they overestimate their abilities (So basically just like the Western freelancers. Conclusion: go with Eastern Europeans).

Oh fuck yea Youtube is the new marketing. Think I already said this back on the old eBay thread but; I sent in a couple of my Chinese gadgets I sold on eBay to some YouTubers to review, sales were off the roof for a month!

Fucked up and realized I gave them the item link instead of my store link, so when I ran out...I ran out. They had to go through the trouble of clicking my username to "See more".

I mean literally I didn't even have to pay, just send it to the low grade youtuber's with REAL viewers/followers (checking their videos for comments) and then ask them to review your shit. Haha, some of them made fun of it but it still drove traffic.

Haha same here, think I passed with a C- in swimming last year.

Also, nah I'll pass on that. It would give everything away. Still learning the back end of my bizz. Thanks again

Alright I was just curious and wanted to help. Logo work is enjoyable more so than having to go through lines of code.

My first launch for my startup will be early july. The second launch will take place middle of august. I have a good base of clients so far.

Ok so did the grand opening and was hoping for a smidge of orders without having to resort to bs. No dice.

What should i do for a grand opening offer? Buy one get one? 50% off?

Ayy nice, and yea the logo was like the most fun part...spent a good day trying out different ones. Went overboard, then under, then stupid. Finally made one that didn't do too much or too little.

If I'm hearing your correctly it looks like you either opened up your eBay store or a thrift store/bakery etc...lol do what everyone does. Just give free shit until everyone knows you give free shit, then one day charge the hell out of them.

Logo looks like shit. Get with the graphic trends if you want attention. Keep colors warm and basic. Get rid of those shiny stuff man, this isn't 00's anymore. Shit, I'd help you with the logo, but I'm sure it won't help since your entire UI prolly looks like shit too.

Bar Rescue - Taffer is a very smart man, knows his industry. you can see the distain when he hears the owners and managers have never run a bar.

Moresoe when they we customers first.

I just recently moved into fuel and convenience as I'd like to start acquiring businesses in my area, in that space that are failing. I've got 12 years of retail management in QSR, FMCG and CE behind me. certified to within an inch of my life in accounting, business management and acquisitions - about 6 years behind where I wanted to be about now but the shit I've learnt since will make me dangerous... I hope.

All funded by 3 other businesses I've built, profited and sold in the past years.

is it okay to include a search function on your website, that crawls through specific websites and spews out a part of their content as a search result as long as i link to that page? e.g. im searching for a specific date, it checks the indexed websites for entries that contain the date, then displays the formated relevant content.

I always find it funny when people open/buy a bar(or any buisness for that matter) with absolutely no industry experience. If it's your 'dream' then you should suck it up and spend a year working at a successful bar and learn how it operates first.

You can always combine it, 1hr x 24hr = 24 weeks. So he can get a whole day for about half a year's worth of weeks. Or take a whole week 24hr x 7 = 168hr and spend 3 years all in one week. Seeing he knows how to make a decent app, I'd say he's in his 30s so 55weeks x 40 more years of life = 2,200hrs/92^ days

Never said I was getting it, but it is tempting.

>No credit checks

It's because they check to see if you're selling on eBay/other sites and are making decent income but need capital for inventory or a car/ whatever for your business to grow. I mean, they must check your feedbacks and everything else if they're not checking your credit (which I don't even have).

Right but someone could be 30k in debt personally and about to declare bankrupcy or default on payments and their business itself could be working on razor thin margins previously subsidized by their credit cards. In this case PP would lose 20k in a flash.
